📋 Description

• Sr. Software Engineer at Moxfive LLC, a remote role focused on building AI-powered technologies to streamline cyber attack response, recovery, and resilience for enterprises.
• Day to day: Design and build backend services, APIs, and workflow systems; solve distributed-systems problems; evolve production-grade APIs; design transactional data layers; operate reliable multi-step workflows using tools like Temporal; work with event-driven architectures and asynchronous messaging; contribute to AI-assisted features in long-running workflows; collaborate with engineers to shape architecture and technical decisions.
• About the team or company: Moxfive LLC is founded by cybersecurity experts with over 30 years of combined experience from CrowdStrike, Mandiant, Palo Alto Networks, Crypsis, Illumio, and Expel; the company is building an AI-powered incident response platform to disrupt the breach response market and help customers recover faster from cyber incidents.
• What the person can learn or achieve in this role: Shape core platform architecture and key technical decisions; gain deep experience in AI-assisted workflow orchestration; improve system reliability and scalability in high-stakes cybersecurity contexts; work closely with real-world cyber incident response scenarios to build systems that directly improve customer outcomes.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including meaningful time in a Senior or Lead role designing and building distributed systems.
• Deep expertise in Go and strong experience building reliable backend services in production.
• Strong experience designing transactional data layers and choosing the right storage pattern for the job, including tradeoffs between consistency, flexibility, caching, and ephemeral state.
• Experience designing and evolving production-grade APIs, including contract-first protobuf/RPC and clean HTTP APIs, with focus on clear contracts, backward compatibility, and schema evolution.
• Experience designing and operating reliable multi-step workflows in distributed systems using tools like Temporal, including understanding of retries, idempotency, compensation, and resumability.
• Hands-on experience with asynchronous messaging and event-driven architectures, including stream/topic design, delivery guarantees, idempotent processing, and failure handling across service boundaries.
