- • Join Edvisorly Inc. as a Sr Software Engineer, Back-end / Data Engineer, a pivotal role within our dynamic product and engineering team. This is a hands-on opportunity to architect, develop, and scale critical features across our innovative platform, while simultaneously serving as a subject matter expert in data engineering. You will be instrumental in shaping our data-driven capabilities, building sophisticated features that transform raw data into actionable insights for our business stakeholders, and guiding the engineering team on best practices for data architecture and ingestion patterns. Your role will extend to actively participating in the detailed execution of projects, including data wrangling when necessary, to ensure successful project completion and delivery.
- • As a Sr Software Engineer, you will own significant product features from conception to deployment. This includes designing and implementing scalable APIs, developing real-time data processing systems, and building AI-driven functionalities that enhance the interactions between students and universities. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of feature development, encompassing technical design, rigorous implementation, comprehensive testing, and seamless deployment. A key aspect of your contribution will be creating intuitive in-product experiences that surface valuable insights and analytics to our university partners, thereby empowering them to make informed, data-driven decisions.
- • Your responsibilities will also encompass a strong focus on Data Engineering & Analytics. You will design, build, and maintain robust ETL pipelines and sophisticated data transformation workflows that are essential for powering our analytics and reporting capabilities. In close collaboration with business stakeholders, you will create and manage Looker dashboards, effectively translating complex business requirements into clear, actionable visualizations. Furthermore, you will develop and optimize data models and aggregation layers to ensure efficient querying and support real-time analytics. Ensuring the integrity and reliability of our data will be paramount, and you will implement rigorous data validation, change management processes, quality checks, and monitoring systems across all relevant systems.
- • In the realm of Data Architecture & Infrastructure, you will act as the go-to data engineering subject matter expert for the entire engineering team. Your guidance will be crucial in making informed data architecture decisions and establishing best practices. You will be tasked with designing and reviewing data ingestion patterns from diverse customer systems, ensuring these solutions are scalable, reliable, and maintain data quality. A significant part of your role will involve optimizing database schemas, queries, and indexing strategies to ensure peak performance, especially as our data volume grows. You will also actively contribute to key technical decisions regarding data storage solutions, processing frameworks, and the selection of analytics tooling.
- • Collaboration and Technical Leadership are core to this role. You will work closely with product managers, fellow engineers, and business teams to deeply understand analytics requirements and deliver impactful data-driven features. You will partner with Solutions Engineering and Customer Success teams to design and implement data integrations and reporting solutions tailored for our enterprise customers. A vital component of your role will be mentoring junior team members, sharing your expertise in data modeling, pipeline development, and analytics best practices. You will also support strategic decisions related to data infrastructure that will enable future AI/ML capabilities and advanced analytics. Additionally, you will assist other teams in refining their data structures, and in developing migration and backfill strategies to ensure compliance and enhance compatibility with other systems, our data warehouse, and analytics platforms.
- • This position is ideal for an individual who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments, possesses a passion for building elegant solutions that transform raw data into actionable insights, and is driven to see their work make a tangible impact on the future of higher education. You will be at the forefront of innovation, helping to reshape how universities and students connect and succeed.
