Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • As a Sr Software Engineer, Interoperability at Mysten Labs, you will play a critical role in building the foundational infrastructure that enables seamless interaction between the Sui blockchain and external systems, directly contributing to the scalability, security, and real-world utility of decentralized protocols that power the internet of value.
  • • You will design, develop, and maintain high-performance, secure software systems that interface with the Sui network — including RPC nodes, data services, and interoperability layers — ensuring reliability, correctness, and resilience under production workloads while collaborating across cryptography, Move Platform, and Walrus teams to productionize their externally facing services.
  • • Your day-to-day responsibilities include implementing and optimizing distributed systems using Rust and C++, analyzing and applying research from networking, distributed systems, storage, databases, operating systems, and runtimes to solve complex interoperability challenges, and ensuring secure software practices through cryptographic integrity, DoS prevention, and secure programming paradigms.
  • • You will author comprehensive design documentation, lead technical reviews (synchronous and asynchronous), participate in cross-functional discussions, and contribute to release management and production reliability efforts for services that power dApps, wallets, and institutional integrations built on Sui.
  • • You will work within a remote-first, world-class engineering culture at Mysten Labs, a company backed by $300M in Series B funding from top-tier investors including a16z, Jump Crypto, Binance Labs, and Coinbase Ventures, where your work directly supports the mission to onboard the next billion users to web3 through open, decentralized protocols.
  • • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in blockchain interoperability, distributed systems security, and high-assurance software engineering while shaping the technical backbone of a rapidly growing ecosystem — gaining visibility, impact, and career growth opportunities typically reserved for senior architects at leading infrastructure firms.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or a related discipline (or foreign equivalent) and 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering, systems programming, or a closely related role.
  • • Proven experience with C++ and Rust in production environments, including strong proficiency in memory safety, concurrency, and performance optimization.
  • • Demonstrated expertise in networking, distributed systems, storage, databases, operating systems, and runtimes, with the ability to read and apply research papers to real-world system design.
  • • Hands-on experience designing and evaluating secure software systems, including secure programming practices, applied cryptography, and mitigation of DoS and other network-based threats.
  • • Proven ability to write clear, detailed design documentation and actively participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and architecture decisions across distributed teams.
  • • Experience working in collaborative, remote-first environments with exposure to blockchain or web3 technologies is a strong plus.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Fully remote work flexibility with global hiring — work from anywhere in the world while collaborating with a distributed, world-class team.
  • • Competitive compensation package including equity participation in a high-growth blockchain infrastructure company backed by $300M in Series B funding from top-tier VCs.
  • • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans, along with wellness stipends and mental health resources to support holistic well-being.
  • • Generous paid time off, company holidays, and flexible scheduling to promote work-life balance and sustained productivity.
  • • Access to cutting-edge technical challenges in blockchain interoperability, cryptography, and distributed systems — with opportunities to publish, present, and contribute to open-source research and standards.
  • • Professional development support including conference attendance, technical training, and mentorship from senior engineers and researchers at the forefront of web3 innovation.
