- • The Sr. Staff AI Engineer is a senior individual contributor responsible for designing and delivering scalable, production-ready AI solutions that advance Penn Mutual’s Connected Data Strategy, applying deep software and AI engineering expertise to deliver enterprise AI capabilities across LLM-based services, RAG, document intelligence, and cloud-native integrations.
- • Day to day, the role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining production AI services using AWS native technologies (Bedrock, SageMaker, Lambda, EventBridge, OpenSearch, S3, DynamoDB); building and operating RAG pipelines; engineering LLM-enabled APIs and workflows; developing solutions for unstructured data and document intelligence; applying strong software engineering practices (CI/CD, automated testing, IaC, observability); ensuring AI systems meet performance, scalability, security, cost efficiency, and resilience requirements; collaborating with Architecture, Data, Platform, and Product teams; providing technical leadership through code reviews and design guidance; mentoring engineers on AI engineering patterns and responsible AI practices; contributing reusable components; assisting with project planning; and ensuring AI solutions adhere to enterprise governance, security, privacy, and model risk standards.
