- • As a Sr. Strategic Sales Manager in Corporate Payments, you will drive new business opportunities across WEX’s Corporate Payments product portfolio in Washington DC and Maryland, focusing on optimizing B2B payments from AP systems and identifying embedded payment verticals for virtual cards.
- • You will identify and qualify opportunities with businesses where virtual cards can fulfill B2B transactions, creatively target the right companies, and initiate contact with key decision-makers.
- • You will manage the full sales cycle from lead generation and initial contact through deal closure and follow-up, including preparing high-quality proposals, negotiating contracts, and providing accurate revenue forecasting.
- • You will collaborate with internal operations teams to ensure smooth service delivery, maintain up-to-date Salesforce and Account Management systems, and build strong relationships with stakeholders ranging from senior executives to technical contacts.
- • This individual contributor role requires a consultative sales approach, with 30-40% travel to meet clients and visit WEX’s headquarters in Portland, Maine, and is ideal for a results-oriented professional seeking to grow within a company that values internal talent development.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree or higher
- • Minimum of 8-10 years of direct sales, account, and/or channel management experience
- • Proven track record of generating own leads and a hunter mentality
- • Experience in B2B payments and virtual payment industry knowledge (preferred)
- • Demonstrated ability to exceed annual sales quotas and manage business development to achieve growth targets
- • Skilled at presenting ideas effectively to individuals or groups and building trust with stakeholders
