- • Examines chain of title primarily for residential properties but may expand into commercial and/or industrial, performing title examination of complex title orders requiring a high level of title expertise
- • Abstracts and analyzes records such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plat and map books to determine ownership and legal restrictions, verify legal description of property, and ensure completeness of records
- • Writes title products based on interpretation and application of procedural guidelines, provides underwriting interpretation within established guidelines, and mentors less experienced team members
- • Works within First American’s Data & Analytics division, a national provider of property-centric information, analytics, risk management, and valuation solutions, leveraging over 7 billion document images and 20+ patents to deliver decisioning solutions for lenders, real estate, and title companies

- • Gains deep expertise in title examination, state-specific requirements, and industry-leading systems while developing leadership skills through mentoring and guiding junior team members
🎯 Requirements
- • High School Diploma or equivalent
- • Typically requires 5+ years of directly related experience with demonstrated mastery of title examination resources, skills, and knowledge
- • Multiple state licenses (as required by state) to operate across a broad geographic area
- • Strong detail and quality orientation with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- • Knowledge of legal terms used in title documents and ability to read and decipher legal descriptions
- • Strong MS skill set and familiarity with industry and company operating systems, tools, and applications
