- • As a Sr Workday Finance Administrator at Government Employees Health Association, Inc. (G.E.H.A), you will be instrumental in the continuous evolution and meticulous maintenance of our core financial system, Workday. This pivotal role demands a proactive and technically adept individual who can collaborate seamlessly with Finance, Procurement, and HR departments, as well as leadership, to provide robust system support and drive significant improvements in our processes and technological capabilities.
- • You will serve as the primary technical point-of-contact and system owner for Workday Finance. This involves diligently researching and resolving complex issues, addressing unexpected system behaviors, and rectifying process flaws. A key responsibility will be performing scheduled system activities and ensuring clear, consistent communication with stakeholders regarding system changes, updates, and enhancements, fostering transparency and alignment across departments.
- • Your expertise will extend to providing routine, high-level support for a comprehensive range of Workday functional areas. This includes, but is not limited to, Procurement and Suppliers, Expense Management, Banking and Settlement, Financial Accounting (encompassing General Ledger and Reporting), Business Assets, Projects, Budgeting and Adaptive Planning, and Payroll. You will be expected to support these critical functions within a live production environment, demonstrating a capacity for independent problem-solving and effective management.
- • A significant aspect of this role involves the end-to-end lifecycle of system and process development. You will be responsible for designing, building, rigorously testing, deploying, and supporting new systems and processes that precisely meet evolving business requirements. This must be done while strictly adhering to established change management protocols and contributing to the creation and maintenance of a well-controlled systems environment by defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
- • You will actively liaise with the broader Workday user community, seeking out and implementing best practices to optimize system utilization and efficiency. This collaborative approach ensures that G.E.H.A remains at the forefront of Workday's capabilities.
- • Core administrative functions within Workday will be under your purview, including the meticulous maintenance of security roles and permissions, the configuration of business processes, tenant configuration, efficient data loading, and managing system upgrades. Your attention to detail in these areas is crucial for system integrity and security.
- • You will play an active role in the regular review and strategic planning of both Workday Finance (FIN) and Human Capital Management (HCM) systems projects, contributing to the overall technological roadmap of the organization.
- • Providing exceptional user support services is paramount. This includes proactively innovating new methods to disseminate best practices, enhance user adoption, and increase overall end-user engagement with the Workday system, thereby maximizing its value.
- • A key technical skill will be your ability to write a variety of reports, including standard, advanced, matrix, and composite reports. Furthermore, you will be adept at creating complex calculated fields and worksheets to derive meaningful insights from financial data.
- • You will collaborate effectively with a diverse array of stakeholders, encompassing both functional and technical teams. This requires the ability to communicate clearly and build rapport with individuals at various seniority levels and with differing technical and non-technical backgrounds.
- • The dynamic nature of this role demands flexibility to adapt to continuously changing priorities and challenges, ensuring that system support and development remain agile and responsive to business needs.
- • You will be responsible for the setup and ongoing maintenance of critical technical configurations within Workday. This includes, but is not limited to, business process workflows, custom fields, custom validations, custom reports, dashboards, and access rights, ensuring the system is tailored to G.E.H.A's specific operational requirements.
- • You will actively support Workday feature release updates and enhancements, ensuring that the system is always leveraging the latest capabilities and improvements provided by the vendor.
- • The creation and development of detailed functional designs and specifications will be a key deliverable, translating business needs into technical requirements for system modifications and implementations.
- • You will contribute to the setup and utilization of project management processes and systems across various work streams. This includes planning the project lifecycle, identifying key project activities, and defining critical milestones to ensure successful project delivery.
- • You will be expected to recommend system enhancements and packages that offer technological advancement, drive automation, deliver tangible value, and align seamlessly with G.E.H.A's overarching goals and unique company culture.
- • You will work directly with internal and external auditors, providing necessary system information, documentation, and support to ensure compliance and facilitate audit processes.
