SRE Engineer (DevOps)

📋 Description

• • You will join Aylo’s global Infrastructure & Reliability team as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) / DevOps specialist whose mission is to keep our 100M+ daily users happily streaming, gaming and interacting on platforms that never sleep. Your code, automation and architectural decisions will directly determine whether a new feature rolls out smoothly or causes a 3 a.m. fire-drill.
• • Own the end-to-end reliability of high-traffic, low-latency web, API and game services running on Kubernetes clusters that span AWS, GCP and bare-metal. From capacity planning to chaos-engineering experiments, you will be the guardian of 99.99 % availability targets while pushing the envelope on performance and cost efficiency.
• • Design, build and harden CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Argo CD, Flux) that ship containerised micro-services to production hundreds of times per week without human intervention. Your pipelines will include automated security scanning, policy-as-code gates and progressive delivery strategies (canary, blue/green, feature flags) so that new releases delight users instead of breaking them.
• • Instrument everything: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, OpenTelemetry, Jaeger and custom eBPF probes will become your paintbrushes. You will define SLIs/SLOs that are meaningful to product teams, create self-healing runbooks and tune alert fatigue down to near zero. When an alert does fire, you will lead blameless post-mortems that convert incidents into durable reliability improvements.
• • Optimise for planet-scale traffic patterns: multi-region active-active architectures, edge caching with Cloudflare Workers, global Anycast DNS, database sharding (PostgreSQL, Vitess, DynamoDB) and event streaming (Kafka, Pulsar). You will squeeze every millisecond out of TLS handshakes, image/video pipelines and real-time game state synchronisation.
• • Champion infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, Pulumi and Helm. Your pull requests will be peer-reviewed like production code, versioned in Git and automatically applied via Atlantis or Terraform Cloud. You will enforce tagging, cost-allocation and security baselines so that finance and compliance teams sleep as well as your services.
• • Collaborate daily with Software Engineers, QA, Security, Data and Trust-&-Safety teams to embed reliability, privacy and safety by design. You will translate complex technical trade-offs into plain English for stakeholders from the C-suite to customer support, ensuring that “safe user experiences” is more than a slogan.
• • Participate in a follow-the-sun on-call rotation that respects work-life balance: no 24-hour marathons, generous comp time and a culture that fixes root causes instead of heroics. You will also mentor junior engineers, conduct game-day drills and contribute to open-source projects that give back to the wider SRE community.
• • Drive cost-optimisation initiatives that save millions without compromising user delight—think Graviton3 migrations, spot-instance orchestration, tiered object storage policies and ML-based autoscaling. Your dashboards will show dollars saved per engineering hour invested.
• • Stay ahead of the curve: evaluate bleeding-edge tech (eBPF service meshes, WebAssembly at the edge, confidential computing) in sandbox environments and present findings to the architecture guild. Your curiosity will keep Aylo at the forefront of safe, inclusive and high-performance adult entertainment.
