- • As a Staff AI Systems Engineer at Flock Safety, you will play a pivotal role in advancing Night Shift, an AI research assistant designed to amplify investigator impact by automating repetitive casework steps, directly contributing to faster, more accurate leads for law enforcement.
- • You will own the AI evaluation framework, design and implement agentic systems using LLMs, and collaborate with engineering, design, and product teams to build scalable, observable, and production-ready ML infrastructure.
- • You will work within Flock’s Machine Learning team in a fast-paced, high-impact environment, helping shape the technical foundation for agentic AI systems that support real-world public safety outcomes.
- • In your first 90 days, you will immerse yourself in the system, ship quick wins, establish evaluation and observability foundations, deliver an MVP evaluation harness, and eventually productionize the platform as the source of truth for model quality and safety.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience building and shipping ML systems to production
- • Proficiency in backend Python and familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript or Go
- • Hands-on experience with LLM agents, including API use (LangChain/LangGraph, vLLM, OpenAI/Gemini/Anthropic), agent design (tool use, retrieval, memory, grounding), and architectural patterns for multi-agent systems
- • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Terraform, VPC, networking), backend databases (Postgres, Redis), and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, LangSmith/Langfuse)
- • Proven ability to build offline/online LLM evaluation harnesses and measure search, retrieval, safety, cost, latency, and agentic task performance
