📋 Description

• As a Staff Applied Scientist in Personalization at OnePay, you will design and deploy machine learning, deep learning, and LLM models that shape customer experience, drive business growth, and improve operational efficiency while collaborating closely with product, engineering, and analytics teams.
• You will develop personalization and recommendation systems that deliver dynamic, user-centric experiences across OnePay’s financial services platform, including banking, savings, credit cards, investing, and crypto offerings.
• You will design and optimize search and retrieval systems to improve discoverability, relevance, and user satisfaction, ensuring users can quickly find the financial tools and information they need.
• You will work within a fast-moving, mission-driven team backed by Walmart and Ribbit Capital, where urgency, technical excellence, and low ego are valued, and your work will directly impact millions of Americans seeking better financial outcomes.
• You will have the opportunity to grow your expertise in applied AI at scale, productionizing models that deliver measurable business impact in a high-growth fintech environment focused on embedded financial services for employees and frontline workers.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building and productionizing ML/AI models that deliver measurable business impact.
• Experience building and productionizing LLM-powered applications, agentic systems, and traditional ML models (including ranking, recommendations, and personalization).
• Strong technical background with a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
• Fluency in collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Analytics teams to bring AI solutions from ideation to deployment.
• Drive and proactivity — demonstrated ability to operate with urgency, ownership, and a builder’s mindset in fast-paced environments.
