📋 Description

• Own and drive the roadmap and implementation for multiple backend systems, balancing short-term business needs with long-term architectural goals.
• Lead technical architecture decisions and system designs for the world’s first global crypto payments network.
• Provide technical leadership across engineering teams, influencing product strategy and cross-functional collaboration with product and design.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize secure, scalable backend services and APIs that enable crypto-based payments, transfers, and financial activity.
• Work extensively with Azure cloud services for deployment, scaling, and infrastructure management of critical financial systems.
• Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and rapid resolution of software defects to ensure system reliability and uptime.
• Build crypto-first products that facilitate traditional financial operations such as payments and asset transfers while maintaining security and compliance.
• Champion software engineering best practices including infrastructure as code, DevSecOps, and secure coding standards.
• Optimize backend system performance and scalability to handle large volumes of transactional data and high-concurrency user demands.
• Stay current with emerging trends in fintech, blockchain technology, and backend development to inform architectural direction.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align technical execution with business objectives and product vision.
• Implement and enforce security-first principles including authentication (AuthN), authorization (AuthZ), SAML, API security, and encryption standards.
• Apply deep knowledge of microservices architecture and RESTful API design principles to build modular, maintainable systems.
• Drive project-wide architectural considerations and ensure code quality, efficiency, and reliability across all backend components.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers to elevate team capabilities and foster a culture of technical excellence.
• Work in a hybrid environment: employees in San Francisco, New York, or Bangalore are expected to be in-office at least 40% of the time (approximately two days per week).

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in fintech or payments infrastructure
• Strong backend skills in one or more of: C#, C++, Go, Java, Python
• Proficiency in cloud-native development using Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD tooling
• Security-first mindset with knowledge of AuthN, AuthZ, SAML, API security, and encryption
• Understanding of crypto concepts including blockchains, RPCs, and self-custody wallets
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture
