📋 Description

• Staff Backend Engineer role focused on leading the Payments team and contributing as a senior engineer in a fully distributed organization at TeamSnap, a sports and communication platform dedicated to simplifying youth sports operations.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include architecting and building scalable backend systems using Node, TypeScript, Elixir, SQL, and cloud services; designing and implementing backend services; improving observability; debugging complex production issues; pairing with teammates; reviewing critical code paths; and taking on scoped technical work to ensure safe and effective delivery.
• The Payments team owns business-critical systems for registration, payment collection, financial workflows, payouts, partner integrations, subscriptions, and operational support, serving millions of daily users and amateur sports organizations.

🎯 Requirements

• Experience with Node.js and TypeScript for backend development
• Proficiency in Elixir and SQL for building scalable systems
• Background in service-oriented and event-driven architecture
• Experience with cloud-based services and observability tools
• Strong code review and debugging skills in production environments
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a fully distributed team
