📋 Description

• Architect and implement mission-critical financial systems that process millions of dollars daily, including payment processing, fraud detection, and compliance infrastructure with strict regulatory requirements
• Lead cross-domain solutions that coordinate interactions between payments, fraud detection, user management, and compliance systems within a distributed microservices architecture
• Drive technical architecture decisions that impact the entire platform, establishing best practices for scalability, reliability, and maintainability
• Mentor junior engineers by guiding coding standards, design patterns, and engineering practices to foster a high-performance engineering culture
• Optimize system performance and reliability across distributed microservices to maintain 99.9%+ uptime for high-volume financial transactions
• Collaborate closely with product and compliance teams to design systems that align with both business objectives and regulatory frameworks
• Design and implement systems using domain-driven design, clean architecture, and CQRS patterns to manage complex financial workflows
• Build and maintain integrations with third-party financial services and external APIs to enable cross-border payments and money movement
• Apply strong foundations in algorithms, data structures, and computer science fundamentals to solve complex engineering challenges at scale
• Contribute to the evolution of the engineering team’s culture and technical direction as a core member of a small, high-impact team
• Work with Python 3 for backend development, leveraging web frameworks and APIs to deliver robust financial services
• Design and manage database schemas using both SQL and NoSQL databases to support high-throughput financial data operations
• Deploy and operate systems on Google Cloud Platform or similar cloud infrastructure to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant financial operations
• Participate in the development of systems that meet AML, KYC, PCI DSS, and other financial regulatory standards
• Enable financial innovation by building infrastructure that supports new financial products and services for businesses processing 100M+ in weekly transaction volume

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience building complex, production systems
• 3+ years of technical leadership experience (mentoring, architecture decisions, cross-team coordination)
• Demonstrated systems engineering experience solving complex, cross-domain challenges
• Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and computer science fundamentals
• Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and microservices
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required
