• As a Staff Backend Engineer at DualEntry, you will play a pivotal role in architecting and building core backend systems that power our innovative AI-native ERP. This is an intense, hands-on role with complete ownership, demanding a hardcore work ethic and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will be instrumental in designing and implementing features and systems from end-to-end, ensuring they are performant, scalable, and secure. Your contributions will directly impact the product's evolution and our ability to serve a growing customer base.
• Your responsibilities will encompass the full software development lifecycle. You will design and build robust backend systems, with a preference for Python, creating APIs, services, and infrastructure capable of handling real-time, business-critical, and complex accounting logic. This includes developing production-ready features from the ground up, establishing CI/CD pipelines, and managing deployments. You will collaborate closely with the product team to translate intricate finance workflows into efficient and secure technical solutions.
• A significant aspect of this role involves managing complexity within a business-logic-heavy product. This includes tackling data migrations, addressing scale challenges, and ensuring the integrity and performance of our systems as they grow. You will also be responsible for integrating third-party tools and external systems, proactively identifying and mitigating potential edge cases and risks to ensure seamless operation.

• Furthermore, you will be involved in establishing and refining our deployment processes, including the implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines. Your expertise in cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS, will be crucial for managing and scaling our services effectively. • The Staff Backend Engineer will also be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to define technical requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions. You will contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and architectural decisions, helping to mentor junior engineers and elevate the overall technical capabilities of the team. 🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience, language agnostic.
• Deep experience with complex business logic products and managing evolving requirements.
• Proven experience deploying and managing services on cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
• Strong database skills, including PostgreSQL, SQL, ORMs, migrations, and schema design.
