• • As a Staff Backend Engineer specializing in Enrollment Underwriting at Bestow Inc., you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of life insurance technology. You will be instrumental in developing and enhancing the core systems that power our digital enrollment experience, directly impacting how individuals access and secure life insurance. • • Your primary focus will be on building robust, scalable, and maintainable web services using Golang and PostgreSQL, complemented by Python and Drools Rule Language for complex business logic. You will be at the forefront of developing new platform capabilities designed to scale seamlessly with Bestow's ambitious growth trajectory and the evolving needs of our diverse partners.
• • This role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will be expected to identify challenges and opportunities within the enrollment process and independently propose and implement effective solutions. A deep understanding of the business context and how your technical contributions drive success is highly valued.
• • Collaboration is key to our success. You will work closely with Enrollment Product Managers, Underwriters, and external partners to ensure our systems meet their precise requirements. Furthermore, you will engage with various teams across Bestow, including product management, design, and other engineering functions, to align on and execute the product roadmap.
• • As part of the Origination Group, you will contribute to a system composed of modular services that communicate via gRPC, REST, and asynchronous messaging patterns. You will gain hands-on experience with our modern infrastructure, which runs on Kubernetes within Google Cloud Platform (GCP). A significant aspect of your role will involve sharing responsibility for the operational health and performance of these critical workloads.
• • You will be responsible for writing high-quality, maintainable code, including comprehensive automated tests to ensure reliability and facilitate future development. A commitment to observability is crucial; you will ensure that features are instrumented for monitoring, allowing for swift detection and resolution of any potential failures.
