- • As a Staff Backend Software Engineer at Saris AI, you will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance practical AI-powered software solutions for the fintech industry, directly contributing to solving a $100 billion/year problem in banking automation through long-context reasoning and tool orchestration.
- • Your day-to-day will involve owning project timelines by managing priorities and delivering high-quality features, driving product and business decisions as a core contributor, and participating in code reviews, testing, and other engineering best practices to ensure system reliability and scalability.
- • You will join a core engineering team at a fast-growing applied AI startup based in San Francisco and Montreal, backed by Tier 1 Silicon Valley VCs and founded by repeat YC alumni with a successful exit, working on production-grade AI agents already handling real customer workflows in live deployments.
- • In this role, you will have the opportunity to design clean, scalable systems from v1 to scale, gain deep experience with cutting-edge AI agentic systems, influence technical and strategic direction, and grow as a technical leader in a high-impact, early-stage environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • Demonstrated backend/fullstack engineering experience, ideally in SaaS with high-impact projects
- • Deep experience with Python (Django, Flask, FastAPI), TypeScript (React), Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP)
- • Strong experience designing, building, and scaling distributed systems
- • Strong background in relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, Redis)
- • API design expertise (REST, GraphQL) and deployment know-how
