📋 Description

• As a Staff Backend Software Engineer at Archy Inc., you will play a pivotal role in transforming dental practice management through a cutting-edge SaaS platform, directly enabling dental professionals to focus on patient care by eliminating technical inefficiencies in their daily operations.
• You will lead the architectural vision and technical execution of our Java Spring Boot backend, ensuring scalable, reliable systems that support rapid product innovation and high-traffic feature releases while maintaining system stability and performance.
• Day to day, you will lead the design of distributed systems and data models to support scaling and feature expansion, taking full ownership of end-to-end delivery for major cross-functional product updates including release lifecycle management and production performance monitoring.
• You will proactively integrate AI tools like Claude as a co-pilot to accelerate development workflows through sophisticated prompting, while retaining full ownership of code logic, security, and architectural integrity.
• You will collaborate closely with product teams to embed and enhance AI capabilities within the Archy platform, driving innovations that simplify dental workflows and improve user experience for dental professionals.
• You will architect and oversee the seamless integration between the Java Spring Boot backend and React/TypeScript frontend, ensuring high performance, low latency, and system reliability across the full stack.
• You will actively participate in and lead code reviews, fostering a culture of continuous improvement through constructive feedback, mentorship, and adherence to best practices in code quality and system design.
• You will identify and implement process improvements to boost team efficiency, including refining estimation practices, planning development efforts, and streamlining workflows for timely, high-quality delivery.
• You will work within a mission-driven team at Archy that is committed to revolutionizing dental practice management, where your technical leadership directly impacts the success of dental professionals who rely on our platform to run their businesses smoothly.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of experience as a backend engineer with a proven track record of writing clean, maintainable, and high-quality code.
• Extensive experience with Java Spring Boot or similar enterprise frameworks, including deep knowledge of distributed systems, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Demonstrated success in owning and delivering high-traffic features or major platform migrations from conception to production with reliable, scalable outcomes.
• Proficiency in leveraging AI tools (e.g., Claude) as a development co-pilot to enhance velocity without compromising code quality, security, or architectural soundness.
• Strong commitment to testing, stability, and performance engineering to ensure platform reliability for mission-critical dental practice operations.
• Customer-centric mindset with empathy for end-users, understanding that dental practices depend on our software to run their businesses effectively.
