- • As a Staff Compute and Storage Capacity Planner role is and why it matters: The Staff Compute & Storage Capacity Planner at Crusoe Energy Systems LLC plays a critical role in forecasting, optimizing, and managing the lifecycle of compute and storage infrastructure to support AI workloads, directly enabling the company’s mission to align computing with environmental sustainability.
- • What the person will do day to day: Own and manage multi-quarter capacity plans for CPUs and storage (File, Object, Block); analyze demand signals and workload profiles to forecast resource needs; collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Product, Finance, and Supply Chain to translate forecasts into hardware deployments; optimize cost efficiency and utilization targets; define metrics and partner with Software Engineering to automate capacity workflows and build real-time dashboards; perform data mining and validation across hardware usage, asset management, and billing systems to ensure accuracy in capital models.

The Capacity Planning & Efficiency team operates at the intersection of all Crusoe products, services, and physical infrastructure, supporting global and regional capacity planning across its AI-first cloud.
- • What the person can learn or achieve in this role: Develop deep expertise in infrastructure capacity planning at scale within a high-growth AI cloud environment; influence company-wide resource utilization and financial efficiency; gain cross-functional experience bridging engineering, product, finance, and supply chain; contribute to sustainable AI infrastructure innovation; advance technical leadership in automation, forecasting, and hardware lifecycle management for next-generation compute and storage systems.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of direct experience in Infrastructure Capacity Planning, Infrastructure Systems Engineering, or Technical Product Management with heavy exposure to compute and storage
- • Demonstrated foundational technical knowledge of enterprise server configurations, CPU sizing/benchmarking, and storage across File, Object, and Block storage infrastructures
- • Experience working inside high-growth, fast-paced public cloud environments or massively distributed systems topologies
- • Strong structured narrative delivery, documentation, and cross-functional negotiation skills to bridge engineering technicalities and business/financial constraints
- • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, Mathematics, Data Science, or an equivalent technical/quantitative field
