• • We are seeking a highly experienced and technically adept Staff Data Engineer to become a pivotal member of our Regulatory Data Core Squad. This role is crucial for designing, developing, and implementing scalable data solutions that are essential for regulatory and compliance reporting. You will collaborate closely with a talented team of Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, business stakeholders, and the central Data Platform team to ensure our data infrastructure meets the stringent demands of regulatory requirements.
• • As a Staff Data Engineer, you will take the lead in defining the technical architecture and strategic direction for regulatory data solutions. This involves meticulously planning how data is modeled, transformed, and ultimately delivered to meet specific regulatory use cases. Your expertise will guide critical engineering decisions within the squad, providing mentorship to fellow engineers and upholding the highest standards in data modeling, pipeline design, and data quality assurance.
• • The core focus of this position is on domain-level data architecture and the hands-on delivery of robust data solutions. You will leverage the existing infrastructure and ingestion capabilities provided by the Data Platform team, translating complex requirements into actionable, scalable data products. We are looking for a proactive, hands-on technical leader who thrives in fast-paced, agile environments. The ideal candidate can deliver impactful Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) quickly while simultaneously architecting scalable, long-term data solutions.
• • Key responsibilities include defining the data architecture and modeling strategy for the Regulatory domain, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, and compliant with all relevant regulations. You will design comprehensive, end-to-end domain data solutions, encompassing transformation layers, curated datasets, and effective data consumption models. Providing technical leadership and mentorship to Data Engineers and Analytics Engineers is a vital aspect of this role, ensuring alignment with company-wide data platform standards and fostering close collaboration with the Data Platform team.
• • In terms of data modeling and pipeline development, you will design and implement sophisticated data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) utilizing PySpark and advanced SQL techniques. You will be responsible for building and maintaining robust data transformation pipelines and curated datasets that directly support regulatory reporting and analytics needs. Working with data ingested and managed by the Data Platform team, you will transform raw data into reliable, high-quality regulatory data products. The development of both batch and streaming pipelines using industry-standard tools such as Spark, Airflow, Kafka, and Databricks will be central to your work.
• • Project leadership and delivery are paramount. You will spearhead complex data initiatives, driving technical design and ensuring successful delivery across multiple teams. This includes producing detailed technical specifications and comprehensive architecture documentation for all data solutions. A key skill will be the ability to break down intricate problems into manageable, incremental deliveries, prioritizing MVPs and quick wins while establishing a clear roadmap for future evolution. Effective collaboration with engineering, product, and compliance stakeholders to translate intricate regulatory requirements into practical technical solutions is essential.
• • Furthermore, you will champion and implement best practices in engineering, focusing on pipeline modularization, rigorous testing, CI/CD integration, version control, and robust observability. Promoting high standards for data quality, comprehensive documentation, and the development of maintainable data pipelines will contribute significantly to the team's success and the overall reliability of RecargaPay's data infrastructure.
