Staff Data Engineer

📋 Description

• • As a Staff Data Engineer at tem, you will lead the design and evolution of the data platform that powers the company's AI-native energy transaction infrastructure, directly enabling transparent and fair electricity markets.
• • Day to day, you will shape technical direction for batch and streaming pipelines, build and maintain robust ETL/ELT systems for high-ingestion time-series data, implement data quality and observability frameworks, mentor data engineers, and lead design reviews while collaborating with engineering, data science, and energy domain experts.
• • tem is rebuilding the global energy market by replacing legacy systems with AI-driven infrastructure to ensure transparency, efficiency, and sustainability in electricity transactions, having recently raised $75M in Series B funding and scaled its RED product to facilitate billions in transaction value.
• • In this role, you will define the cultural norms, standards, and practices of the data platform from the ground up, enabling self-serve analytics, reducing firefighting, and creating a reliable feedback loop between data ingestion and business use in trading, forecasting, and analytics—positioning you as a technical multiplier who raises the bar for the entire team.
