- • Embed within one of Jerry’s core business units — Growth Marketing, Product Development, AI & Automation, or Strategic Partnerships — to own the end-to-end analytical function for that domain.
- • Define the right business questions before initiating analysis, pushing back on flawed or misaligned questions to ensure focus on high-impact decisions.
- • Design, build, and maintain metrics, dashboards, and reports using SQL (ClickHouse) and Metabase to track key performance indicators and drive data-informed decisions.
- • Conduct independent data extraction, cleaning, structuring, and interpretation to surface actionable insights without reliance on engineering or data infrastructure teams.
- • Design and execute experiments (A/B tests, causal analyses) to evaluate product changes, marketing campaigns, or operational improvements.
- • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, persuasive recommendations for non-technical stakeholders in product, growth, finance, and operations.
- • Drive decision-making by presenting insights directly to leadership, securing buy-in, and ensuring recommendations are implemented to move critical business metrics.
- • Own the full lifecycle of analytical initiatives — from problem framing and data collection to execution and impact measurement — without waiting for approvals or handoffs.
- • Work with Python and Jupyter Hub to develop custom analyses, automate reporting, and build models that support automation and AI initiatives.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and operations teams to align analytical priorities with business goals and ensure data-driven culture.
- • Act as a first-principles problem solver: break down ambiguous, high-stakes business challenges into testable hypotheses before touching data.
- • Function as an owner: take responsibility for outcomes even when issues fall outside your formal scope, treating business problems as if your name is on the door.
- • Contribute to scaling Jerry from 5M to 50M customers by identifying new growth levers, optimizing customer acquisition, improving retention, and enabling strategic partnerships.
- • Avoid bureaucratic overhead: no slide formatting, no unnecessary meetings, no waiting for approvals — only work that materially moves the business forward.
- • Operate in a high-autonomy environment where you are expected to lead analytical strategy and execution without micromanagement.
- • Leverage GitHub for version control of analytical code and collaborate with other data scientists on shared tools and pipelines.
- • Support expansion into new verticals (home, motorcycle, RV) by applying proven analytical frameworks to new markets and customer segments.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of experience at a consulting firm, investment bank, or high-growth technology company
- • Strong analytical skills with independent ability to pull, structure, and interpret data
- • Proven track record of owning ambiguous problems and delivering measurable business impact
- • Clear, persuasive communication skills with ability to influence decisions at the leadership level
- • Proficiency in SQL (ClickHouse) and Python for data analysis and automation
- • Experience using Jupyter Hub, Metabase, and GitHub in a production analytical environment
