📋 Description

• As a Staff Data Scientist on Reddit’s Consumer team, you will play an influential role in guiding product strategy by identifying opportunities to attract new users, increase engagement, and drive retention through data-driven insights.
• Day to day, you will design metrics to evaluate product and business health, drive experimentation from design to analysis, build self-serve tools for product and engineering partners, and work cross-functionally to ensure insights translate into product decisions.
• You will join a mission-driven team at Reddit, a platform with 100,000+ active communities and 126 million daily active unique visitors, where data science powers deeper connections between people and the information and communities they care about.
• In this role, you will scale your impact by mentoring junior data scientists, improving analytical processes, and shaping how data science is practiced across the organization while solving ambiguous, high-impact problems in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

🎯 Requirements

• Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or Operations Research
• For M.S. holders: 10+ years of industry experience in applied science or data science; for Ph.D. holders: 6+ years of industry experience
• Expert knowledge of SQL and relational databases, with familiarity in R or Python for statistical analysis
• Demonstrated ability to influence product strategy with data, solve ambiguous problems using hypothesis-driven approaches, and communicate insights to technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience mentoring junior data scientists and sharing best practices to elevate team performance
