• • As a Staff Data Scientist, you will be at the forefront of defining and executing the data science roadmap for the Partnership, Loyalty, and Pay teams. Your day-to-day will involve deep collaboration with cross-functional leaders in product, engineering, UX research, design, marketing, and business development to conceptualize, develop, and scale innovative, zero-to-one programs. You will be responsible for translating broad business needs into structured scientific roadmaps, identifying opportunities for improvement, and proposing data-centric recommendations that drive business strategy.
• • A core responsibility will be to define and meticulously maintain key objectives and metrics that align with the overarching goals of the Rider, Marketplace, and Lyft as a whole. This includes developing sophisticated measurement frameworks to assess the incrementality of partnerships, the retention impact of loyalty programs, and the overall health of our Pay products. You will leverage your expertise in modeling, advanced analytics, experimentation, and causal inference techniques, such as A/B testing, difference-in-differences, synthetic control, and quasi-experimental methods, to provide actionable insights and drive informed decision-making across the organization.
• • You will play a crucial role in driving cross-organizational impact and alignment, influencing product and business strategy through compelling, data-centric presentations to VP and C-level stakeholders. Your ability to communicate complex scientific results clearly and effectively will be paramount. Furthermore, you will serve as a thought leader and the go-to expert on measurement, incrementality, and causal inference for PLP stakeholders and dependency teams, advising them on best practices and elevating the team's analytical capabilities.
• • Beyond strategic contributions, you will provide invaluable technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level team members. This includes leading code reviews, sharing expertise on solution design and implementation, and actively working to elevate team-wide technical standards and best practices in modeling and reasoning.
