📋 Description

• Serve as the technical lead for the Growth Analytics team, partnering with Growth, Marketing, Sales, and Data Science leaders to develop and implement Airwallex’s global growth strategy.
• Lead the application of data science techniques—including root-cause analysis, statistical modeling, and experimentation—to drive acquisition, activation, retention, and reactivation outcomes.
• Design and implement scalable, robust measurement frameworks that enable data-informed decision-making across cross-functional teams.
• Translate ambiguous, high-level business problems into structured, high-impact data science initiatives with clear objectives and measurable outcomes.
• Communicate complex data insights and strategic recommendations clearly and persuasively to both technical teams and non-technical business stakeholders.
• Mentor and coach junior data scientists, providing technical guidance and fostering professional growth within the team.
• Act as the single-threaded technical owner on critical cross-functional projects, ensuring end-to-end delivery from problem definition to business impact.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and marketing teams to embed data science capabilities into core growth workflows and product experiences.
• Leverage AI tools to enhance analytical efficiency and accelerate problem-solving while maintaining rigor in methodology and interpretation.
• Drive a culture of experimentation and measurement by establishing standardized practices for A/B testing, cohort analysis, and attribution modeling.
• Ensure data science initiatives are aligned with Airwallex’s operating principles, emphasizing founder-like energy, ownership, speed, and first-principles thinking.
• Support global expansion efforts by building analytics infrastructure that scales across regions and business units.
• Maintain deep curiosity and initiative to uncover hidden growth opportunities through data exploration and hypothesis-driven investigation.
• Balance speed and rigor in decision-making, delivering actionable insights under tight timelines without compromising analytical integrity.
• Partner with product and engineering to ensure data pipelines and metrics are reliable, well-documented, and accessible to non-technical teams.
• Contribute to the evolution of Airwallex’s data science practices by introducing new methodologies, tools, or frameworks that improve team effectiveness.

🎯 Requirements

• At least 7 years of industry experience in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Engineering, Sciences, Computer Science, Economics)
• Proven experience mentoring or leading data science or analytics teams
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to influence strategy in high-growth, cross-functional environments
• Track record of applying data science to drive measurable growth outcomes
• Technical proficiency with SQL and Python/R; experience in data modeling is a plus
• Experience in technology, financial services, or high-growth environments is advantageous
