- • As a Staff Data Scientist in Marketing at Reddit, you will lead the strategy and technical execution of Marketing Intelligence efforts, serving as the primary architect for measuring and optimizing Reddit’s marketing spend across B2B (advertiser acquisition/retention) and B2C (user acquisition/engagement) flywheels.
- • Day to day, you will set long-term marketing strategy by defining a 2–3 year technical roadmap, build and refine Media Mix Models (MMM) and Multi-Touch Attribution (MTA) systems, design unified frameworks for B2B and B2C growth optimization, lead complex incrementality testing and geo-holdout experiments, collaborate with Marketing, Growth, and Finance to translate data insights into budget decisions, and mentor junior scientists while ensuring technical rigor across the team.
- • The Marketing Science team at Reddit acts as the engine behind growth, leveraging data, causal inference, and econometrics to maximize the impact of marketing investments at the intersection of brand building and performance marketing, ensuring every dollar spent contributes to the long-term health of Reddit’s ecosystem.
- • In this role, you will influence senior leadership, define North Star metrics for allocating hundreds of millions in marketing budget, advance causal inference methodologies, measure long-term halo effects of brand marketing, and establish yourself as a technical guide shaping how Reddit values and optimizes its marketing efforts for sustainable ecosystem growth.
🎯 Requirements
- • Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
- • For M.S. holders: 10+ years of industry experience in marketing science, growth data science, or econometrics; for Ph.D. holders: 6+ years of industry experience
- • Advanced proficiency in Python or R and SQL, with experience building production-grade data pipelines and using machine learning for predictive modeling
- • Deep understanding of marketing ecosystem with hands-on experience in Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM), Incrementality Testing, and Customer Lifetime Value (LTV) prediction
- • Proven track record of influencing C-suite stakeholders and translating complex statistical concepts into business strategy
- • Experience working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where you build frameworks from the ground up
