- • Lead the technical evolution of the Communications group by applying deep Ruby and web application design expertise to elevate system architecture, scalability, and maintainability.
- • Drive consistent, efficient delivery of features while balancing immediate customer needs with long-term technical health, cost efficiency, and system reliability across tens of thousands of users.
- • Connect engineering decisions directly to customer outcomes, ensuring every feature improves how clinics communicate with patients and staff, reducing administrative burden and enhancing care delivery.
- • Model best practices in full-stack development by actively contributing to both backend and frontend codebases, and stepping into areas of highest impact regardless of traditional boundaries.

- • Contribute to shaping the future roadmap of Jane’s communications infrastructure, identifying opportunities to innovate beyond current capabilities while maintaining backward compatibility and user trust.
- • Act as a technical anchor for the Communications group, ensuring architectural consistency, reducing tech debt, and enforcing code quality standards across multiple services and teams.

- • Experience designing, building, and operating web applications at scale, serving tens of thousands of customers or more
- • Full-stack capability with comfort working across backend and frontend codebases
- • Strong communication and architectural reasoning skills, especially when weighing tradeoffs and guiding technical decisions at a staff level
- • Background working in either early-stage startups, established companies, or both, with adaptability to move between different levels of structure and ambiguity

- • Regular career development conversations with manager tied to compensation growth based on skill development and impact
