Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Lead the Onboarding product development team at Jane to solve critical activation and retention challenges for new clinic customers during their first critical days post-signup.
- • Work across multiple product domains—signup, onboarding, charting, and beyond—to identify and eliminate friction points that no single team owns, creating seamless customer experiences.
- • Design, execute, and iterate on rapid experiments using feature toggles, A/B tests, and small-scale prototypes to validate learning in days, not weeks.
- • Measure outcomes ruthlessly using core metrics: churn rate and activation rate, and use data to determine which initiatives deserve further investment.
- • Leverage generative AI tools daily in development workflows to accelerate coding, improve code quality, and reduce manual toil, while modeling best practices for the team.
- • Mentor and uplevel fellow engineers by demonstrating effective use of AI and modern development practices through collaboration, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- • Make strategic architectural trade-offs between speed and sustainability: know when to build quick hacks for validation and when to invest in scalable, maintainable systems.
- • Foster a team culture of psychological safety where experimentation, failure, and learning are encouraged as core components of progress.
- • Partner closely with product managers, designers, and data teams to align on problem definitions, prioritize high-impact opportunities, and translate ambiguous challenges into actionable engineering tasks.
- • Own end-to-end delivery of onboarding initiatives from concept to deployment, ensuring solutions are user-centered, technically sound, and measurable.
- • Continuously improve team velocity by identifying bottlenecks in development, testing, or deployment processes and proposing data-backed improvements.
- • Stay current with evolving AI tooling in software engineering and evaluate new technologies for adoption based on real-world impact, not novelty.
- • Communicate technical decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders, translating complex engineering trade-offs into business outcomes.
- • Contribute to defining and refining the team’s engineering standards, documentation practices, and onboarding rituals to scale team effectiveness.
- • Maintain a bias for action: prioritize shipping validated learning over perfection, and iterate based on real customer feedback and usage patterns.
- • Advocate for customer empathy by deeply understanding the daily workflows of clinic staff and how Jane’s tools impact their ability to care for patients.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of software development experience, with at least 3+ years focused on growth, product, or infrastructure challenges at scale
- • Demonstrated ability to ship work in rapid cycles within product or experimental contexts
- • Strong working knowledge of modern development workflows and generative AI tools in production environments
- • Comfort making architectural and technical trade-offs in ambiguous situations with sound judgment
- • Track record of mentoring and upleveling other engineers through example, collaboration, and clear communication
🏖️ Benefits
- • Annual salary range of $168,400 to $262,500, with most new hires starting at $199,500
- • Regular career development conversations with manager tied to compensation growth based on impact and skill development
- • Comprehensive benefits package (details available at https://jane.app/documents/hiring/jane_benefits_overview.pdf)
- • Opportunity to work remotely across Canada, the US, and the UK
- • Culture that embraces AI to work smarter, improve systems, and enhance customer and team experiences
- • Mission-driven environment focused on helping healthcare clinics run their businesses and care for patients
