📋 Description
- • The Staff Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) is a technical leadership role responsible for defining quality strategy, architecting scalable automation frameworks, and leading quality initiatives across complex, cloud-based analytical data platforms at NextGen Healthcare, Inc.
- • Day to day, the role involves defining and implementing comprehensive testing strategies for large-scale analytical data platforms including ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs, and data models; architecting and maintaining enterprise-grade automation frameworks for distributed data processing systems; leading performance, scalability, and reliability testing in cloud-native environments; establishing best practices for data validation, schema evolution testing, and regulatory compliance; partnering with engineering leadership to influence architecture decisions for improved testability; mentoring SDET and QA engineers; driving continuous improvement of automation frameworks and tooling; and contributing to cross-team initiatives that enhance release velocity, defect prevention, and platform resilience.
- • The role is embedded within engineering teams at NextGen Healthcare, Inc., a company focused on healthcare technology solutions, operating in a Work From Anywhere-India capacity, where the individual will collaborate across teams to ensure quality and reliability of data-intensive systems.
- • In this role, the person can learn and achieve deep expertise in testing AI/LLM-based systems, agentic workflows, and cloud-native data platforms; influence architectural decisions at scale; mentor and elevate quality practices organization-wide; and gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge tools like AWS Bedrock Agent Core, LangChain, LangGraph, and LlamaIndex while contributing to resilient, high-performance healthcare data platforms.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- • 8+ years of experience in software quality engineering or SDET roles with demonstrated leadership in automation architecture and test strategy for complex cloud-based systems
- • Strong proficiency in advanced programming, with Python strongly preferred and experience in Scala or Java as a plus
