- • Join HighLevel as a Staff Engineer on our Platform Data team and become a cornerstone in architecting and building the future of our rapidly expanding, AI-powered, all-in-one sales and marketing platform. This is a unique opportunity to influence the core infrastructure that supports over 2 million businesses globally, processing billions of API hits and message events daily. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying robust, scalable, and high-performance shared frameworks, libraries, and core services that underpin all of HighLevel’s product offerings.
- • As a Staff Engineer, you will tackle some of the most complex and interesting engineering challenges in the industry. Your work will directly impact the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of our platform, which currently manages over 470 terabytes of data across five databases, operates with a network of over 250 microservices, and supports more than 1 million hostnames. You will be at the forefront of innovation, driving solutions for critical areas such as search, distributed databases, and data management at an unprecedented scale.
- • This role demands a proactive and strategic mindset. You will be expected to dive deep into ambiguous problems, define technical roadmaps, and collaborate closely with product managers, other engineering teams, and stakeholders to translate business needs into elegant, resilient technical solutions. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring our platform can not only meet current demands but also anticipate and adapt to future growth and technological advancements.
- • Key responsibilities will include architecting and implementing new platform capabilities, optimizing existing systems for performance and cost-efficiency, and establishing best practices for data handling, storage, and retrieval. You will mentor junior engineers, conduct thorough code reviews, and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning within the team and across the organization.
- • You will be working with cutting-edge technologies and methodologies, focusing on areas like SQL and NoSQL databases, advanced search technologies, and distributed systems. The ability to design for high availability, fault tolerance, and low latency will be paramount. Your contributions will directly enable our users to capture, nurture, and close leads more effectively, facilitating over 1.5 billion messages, generating over 200 million leads, and supporting over 20 million conversations monthly for our diverse customer base.

🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience in designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems, with a strong emphasis on data storage, retrieval, and processing.
- • Deep expertise in both SQL and NoSQL database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB) and understanding their respective strengths, weaknesses, and use cases.
- • Significant experience with search technologies and platforms (e.g., Elasticsearch, Solr, Lucene) including indexing strategies, query optimization, and relevance tuning.
- • Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Go, Java, Python, C++) and experience developing robust APIs and microservices.
- • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their associated data services.
