- • As a Staff Engineer in Software Development II at NETGEAR, you will drive the technical architecture and strategic development of the cloud-based Network Management System (NMS) platform, combining deep networking expertise with full-stack engineering leadership to build enterprise-grade solutions that manage complex network infrastructures for a global customer base.
- • This role is critical to advancing NETGEAR’s mission of unleashing the full potential of connectivity through intelligent, secure, and scalable networking solutions that delight customers and power businesses worldwide.
- • You will design a scalable, multi-tenant platform architecture capable of managing thousands of network devices across diverse customer environments, ensuring reliability, performance, and seamless operation at enterprise scale.
- • You will lead the development of AI/ML-powered network analytics, predictive maintenance, and automated troubleshooting capabilities, transforming raw telemetry into actionable insights for proactive network management.
- • You will architect integrations with major network vendors’ management platforms (Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Fortinet, etc.) and enterprise IT systems, enabling interoperability and unified control across heterogeneous network infrastructures.
- • You will optimize platform performance for handling massive telemetry data streams from network devices, leveraging expertise in time-series databases, stream processing, and high-throughput data pipelines.
- • You will design zero-trust security models for secure device access and customer data protection, ensuring compliance with enterprise security standards and safeguarding sensitive network information.
- • You will lead the design of comprehensive APIs for network automation, third-party integrations, and customer workflows, enabling programmable control and extensibility of the NMS platform.
- • You will develop edge gateway solutions for on-premises network management in hybrid deployments, bridging cloud capabilities with local network environments for flexible deployment options.
- • You will architect solutions to support enterprise customers managing 10,000+ network devices, focusing on horizontal scalability, fault tolerance, and efficient resource utilization.

🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- • 10–15 years of software development experience, with at least 5 years focused on network management systems (NMS) or similar enterprise networking platforms
- • Deep expertise in enterprise networking technologies, including SDN/SD-WAN, network virtualization, and modern networking protocols, with hands-on experience managing or building systems for network operations centers (NOC)
- • Proven experience with major network vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Fortinet, etc.) and their management APIs, protocols, and integration frameworks
- • Expert-level experience in distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architecture, and real-time stream processing (e.g., Kafka, Apache Storm) for handling high-volume network telemetry
- • Demonstrated success in applying machine learning to network analytics, anomaly detection, and predictive maintenance use cases
- • Strong background in performance optimization, including database tuning for time-series data and high-throughput metrics, as well as cloud networking (VPC, hybrid cloud) and security architecture
