📋 Description

• As a Staff Frontend Engineer on the Care Platform team at Included Health, Inc., you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of digital healthcare experiences by leading the design and implementation of scalable, high-performance web applications that directly impact patient and provider outcomes.
• Your work will ensure that the Care Platform delivers seamless, intuitive, and accessible interfaces that empower users to navigate complex healthcare journeys with confidence, making a tangible difference in how care is accessed and delivered.
• Day to day, you will architect and develop reusable frontend components and systems using modern JavaScript frameworks (primarily React), ensuring consistency, maintainability, and performance across the Care Platform’s evolving feature set.
• You will collaborate closely with product, design, and backend engineers to translate complex user requirements into technical specifications, driving frontend best practices and advocating for accessibility, internationalization, and responsive design principles.
• You will mentor and guide a team of frontend engineers through code reviews, technical workshops, and pair programming, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and psychological safety.
• You will lead efforts to optimize frontend performance, including bundle size reduction, lazy loading, caching strategies, and rendering efficiency, to ensure fast, reliable experiences even under variable network conditions.
• You will contribute to the evolution of the platform’s design system and frontend architecture, proposing and implementing improvements to state management, tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and testing strategies to increase developer velocity and system reliability.
• You will partner with UX researchers and accessibility specialists to validate and refine user journeys, ensuring compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA standards and inclusive design practices across all user touchpoints.
• You will participate in agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and retrospectives, helping to refine processes and remove blockers while balancing technical debt with feature delivery.
• You will stay current with emerging frontend technologies and advocate for their adoption where they align with platform goals, bringing innovation without compromising stability.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of professional frontend engineering experience, with deep expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Zustand, or React Query).
• Proven ability to architect and maintain large-scale frontend systems, including experience with micro-frontends, module federation, or similar scalable architectural patterns.
• Strong background in performance optimization, accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA), and internationalization (i18n) in production web applications.
• Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction without formal authority, demonstrating leadership through technical excellence and collaboration.
• Familiarity with frontend testing strategies (unit, integration, E2E using Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Bonus: Experience in healthcare technology, healthtech platforms, or regulated industries where data privacy and compliance (e.g., HIPAA) are critical.
