📋 Description

• As a Staff Frontend Engineer on the Observability Drilldown team at Grafana Labs, you will build intuitive, guided workflows that make complex telemetry data easy to explore and understand through simple point-and-click interactions, empowering users to gain insights without writing queries.
• Day to day, you will improve and enhance queryless exploration workflows, collaborate across teams to deliver new features, lead projects from concept to implementation, participate in on-call rotations, mentor team members, and expand your expertise in Grafana’s cloud products and codebase while using modern AI-assisted development tools.
• Grafana Labs is a remote-first, open-source powerhouse with over 20M global users of Grafana, serving companies like Bloomberg, JPMorgan Chase, and eBay through its LGTM Stack (Mimir, Loki, Tempo), fostering a culture of transparency, autonomy, trust, and innovation rooted in open-source values.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in frontend architecture, product design, and observability platforms, influence technical roadmaps, grow as a mentor and leader, and contribute to meaningful work that impacts how organizations monitor and understand their systems at scale.

🎯 Requirements

• Deep experience building integrated frontend applications with React and TypeScript, following modern patterns and best practices.
• Proven ability to take ideas from concept to reality — from brainstorming and design discussions to prototypes, polished UIs, and production-ready features.
• Strong sense of product design and usability, with the ability to contribute creatively to user workflows and visual polish.
• Expertise in best-in-class coding practices, including automation-based testing strategies, maintainable architectures, accessibility, and performance optimization.
• Excellent communication skills in a remote-first, collaborative environment, with a track record of working effectively across teams.
• Bonus: Experience with Open Telemetry.
