• • This role is for a Staff Frontend Engineer tasked with architecting and building the user interaction layer for Rodeo, our innovative video-centric creative tool. Rodeo is designed to excel through its microinteractions, sophisticated animation, and overall product polish, making the user experience paramount.
• • This is a highly design-forward frontend position where you will be the primary owner of the product's feel. Your responsibilities will encompass the implementation of transitions, motion graphics, responsiveness, and the subtle details that collectively contribute to making professional tools feel exceptionally intuitive and user-friendly.
• • We are looking for candidates who have a proven track record of building interfaces where meticulous craft is a defining characteristic. This includes experience with creative tools, editors, or media-rich products where users can readily perceive the difference between a good and a great user experience.
• • You should possess strong, well-informed opinions on aspects such as easing curves, frame budgets, and interaction patterns. Furthermore, you should be energized by the prospect of collaborating closely with our design team to explore and implement the full potential of what can be achieved within the browser environment.
• • As a Frontend Engineer, your primary focus will be on building fluid, highly polished user interfaces using React and TypeScript. These interfaces must feel exceptionally fast and intentional in their execution, providing a seamless user experience.
• • You will own the implementation of interaction design, including intricate microinteractions, smooth transitions, engaging animations, and dynamic motion. Proficiency with animation libraries such as Framer Motion, React Spring, or GSAP will be crucial for this aspect of the role.
• • A key part of your role will involve close collaboration with the design team, engaging in rapid ideation sessions and prototyping new interaction patterns to explore creative solutions and user flows.
• • You will be responsible for translating high-fidelity Figma designs into production-ready interfaces, ensuring pixel-level accuracy and adherence to design specifications.
• • You will contribute to the development and maintenance of a robust component library and design system, which will be instrumental in enforcing consistency and maintaining a high standard of craft across the entire product.
• • Performance optimization will be a critical consideration, particularly for complex canvases, timelines, and media-rich views, ensuring the application remains responsive and efficient.
• • You will be expected to write reliable unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure the stability and correctness of complex interactive UI workflows.
• • The role encourages the thoughtful use of AI-assisted development tools to enhance implementation speed and efficiency, without compromising on the quality of the final product.
• • In terms of Design Collaboration, you will work embedded within the design team, acting as a creative partner rather than solely an implementer. This collaborative approach will foster innovation and ensure the product's aesthetic and functional goals are met.
• • You will be involved in quickly prototyping interaction concepts to validate design directions and gather feedback before committing to full-scale implementation.
• • You will champion and implement the subtle micro-details that significantly elevate the product's feel, such as sophisticated loading states, effective error handling, informative empty states, and seamless transitions between different views.
• • This role may necessitate participation in on-site interviews and/or the completion of in-person onboarding processes.
