You will be instrumental in developing new product experiences for our established Zable App, which currently serves over 500,000 customers across both iOS and Android platforms.
• • As a Staff/Lead Engineer, you will be entrusted with significant ownership and decision-making authority, directly impacting the strategic direction and success of Lendable. You will collaborate within small, high-performing, and exceptionally resourceful teams dedicated to solving complex problems and innovating beyond the status quo. • • The Zable App is at the forefront of our product development, and over the next year, we have ambitious plans for its evolution, including the introduction of new financial products and the expansion of our user base to new demographics. • • Beyond feature development, a significant focus of this role will be on enhancing application performance, proactively addressing technical debt, and improving overall system scalability. Your contributions will be vital in supporting the scaling of our UK and US-based products as we continue our impressive growth trajectory.
• • You will be a key player in translating business requirements into actionable development tasks, providing accurate complexity estimates, and identifying potential implementation challenges early on. Your ability to collaborate effectively with Product Owners, propose alternative technical approaches, and ensure seamless integration of new features will be crucial. This role demands a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating technical debt, advocating for code quality improvements, and ensuring that performance and scalability are prioritized alongside new feature delivery.
• • A core aspect of this position involves fostering a high-performing team environment. You will work closely with Product Owners to organize workstreams, identify opportunities for optimizing team performance and happiness, and cultivate a culture of individual accountability for delivery. Furthermore, you will actively mentor and support other engineers, collaborating with Engineering Managers to nurture their professional growth and enable their success. Your leadership will be instrumental in elevating the technical capabilities and collaborative spirit of the mobile engineering team.
• • You will be expected to set the benchmark for automated testing within your team, adopting a pragmatic approach to implementing and refining the various stages of the testing pyramid. This includes ensuring robust unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies are in place to guarantee the reliability and quality of our applications.
• • A deep understanding of modern JavaScript, with a strong emphasis on TypeScript, is essential. You will leverage your expertise in leading cross-platform mobile development using React Native, ensuring a consistent and high-quality user experience across all devices. Your comprehensive understanding of the diverse needs of mobile users across various platforms and devices will be critical in delivering user-centric solutions.
• • This role also encompasses the full spectrum of iOS and Android application management, including provisioning, certificate management, automated deployment pipelines, and app store release processes. You will be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient release cycles, adhering to best practices for mobile application distribution.
