This pivotal role sits within the Growth Engineering team, a dynamic group focused on building the critical experiences that introduce new users to Kraken's ecosystem and foster long-term engagement. Your primary mission will be to refine and optimize the onboarding process, ensuring a seamless, intuitive, and friction-free entry point for individuals exploring the world of crypto.
• • You will be a technical leader, driving complex, cross-cutting initiatives that directly impact the mobile onboarding experience across all Payward products. This involves not just coding, but also setting the architectural direction, mentoring fellow engineers, and ensuring the robustness, scalability, and reliability of the systems you and your team build. Your work will be crucial in enabling rapid experimentation and iteration, allowing Kraken to quickly adapt to user needs and market trends.
• • This is a hands-on leadership position for an engineer who thrives on translating product vision into tangible, high-quality mobile systems. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, Data Analysts, and Marketing specialists to conceptualize and implement onboarding flows that guide users from the initial account creation through to their first revenue-generating action. Your contributions will directly influence user activation and retention rates.
• • A key aspect of your role will be to lead the technical strategy for mobile onboarding. This includes designing and evolving high-quality mobile applications, likely utilizing React Native, with a keen eye on performance, reliability, and maintainability at scale. You will be responsible for architecting reusable mobile components, patterns, and systems that empower the team to experiment efficiently and iterate rapidly on onboarding funnels.
• • Mentorship is a core component of this role. You will guide and uplift other engineers, influencing architectural decisions across both mobile and broader product engineering teams. Upholding stringent engineering standards across the entire mobile stack is paramount, encompassing performance optimization, security best practices, comprehensive testing strategies, and overall maintainability.
