  • • As a Staff Pharmacist with Evernorth, you will play a pivotal role in transforming hospital pharmacy operations from a cost center into a strategic revenue generator.   • • This remote position focuses on serving multiple outpatient specialty pharmacy operations across various states, demanding adaptability and a deep understanding of diverse regulatory landscapes. Your primary objective will be to maximize the cognitive contributions of clinical pharmacists, ensuring the highest standards of patient care are met through innovative telepharmacy solutions.
  • • You will actively engage with clinicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams, fostering collaboration to enhance care team performance and drive improved patient outcomes. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying opportunities for clinical intervention and optimizing medication management strategies.
  • • A key responsibility involves initiating and managing prior authorizations, reauthorizations, and appeals for complex specialty medications. This requires a thorough understanding of insurance processes, clinical justification, and effective communication with payers and healthcare providers.
  • • You will conduct comprehensive patient counseling sessions, providing clear and concise information on the proper use of specialty medications, potential side effects, and adherence strategies. Regular patient reassessment will be integral to ensuring ongoing therapeutic success and addressing any emerging concerns.
  • • All actions, interventions, and patient interactions must be meticulously documented in accordance with the stringent policies and procedures of both CarepathRx and its hospital clients, ensuring compliance and a clear audit trail.
  • • Performing telepharmacy duties as defined in company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is a core function. You will report directly to the Regional Manager, demonstrating accountability and effective remote work practices.
  • • You will gain proficiency in multiple pharmacy information systems (PISs), requiring a strong aptitude for learning new technologies and adapting to different software environments.
  • • Obtaining and maintaining multiple state licenses is essential for serving a diverse client base across various geographical regions, underscoring the need for proactive license management.
  • • Prioritizing, assigning, and evaluating the work related to assigned clients will be part of your role, requiring effective organizational and delegation skills.
  • • Maintaining accurate records and documenting all actions taken is paramount, ensuring data integrity and operational transparency.
  • • Upholding the confidentiality of all information, including protected health information (PHI) under HIPAA, is a non-negotiable aspect of this role, demanding the highest ethical standards.

  • • Demonstrating knowledge of special age-related medical conditions, including pediatric, geriatric, pregnant/nursing, renal/hepatic impairment, and HIV patients, is essential for comprehensive patient care.
  • • Possessing a working knowledge of disease state management, drug-drug interactions, drug-nutrient interactions, drug-disease interactions, drug allergies, appropriate dosing adjustments, and therapeutic duplications will enable you to provide robust clinical recommendations.
  • • Counseling patients, nurses, and medical staff on the proper use of medications ensures patient safety and adherence.
  • • Collecting and analyzing data to draw conclusions and make actionable recommendations will support performance improvement initiatives.
  • • Investigating and resolving complaints, concerns, or errors related to the specialty pharmacy services program demonstrates a commitment to service excellence.
  • • Developing harmonious professional relationships with CarepathRx clients and staff is vital for successful partnerships.
  • • Providing timely responses to all company communications ensures efficient workflow and effective collaboration.
  • • Performing preliminary technological troubleshooting during system breakdowns minimizes disruption to service delivery.
  • • Working effectively with VPNs, various pharmacy information systems (PISs), automation systems, and basic computer programs like Google Workspace and Microsoft Office is required for daily operations.
  • • Coordinating with management and team leads to initiate and complete new hire or new client training processes, including policies, procedures, and software updates, ensures smooth onboarding and operational readiness.
  • • Participating in ongoing training sessions, such as clinical updates, PIS enhancements, or policy changes, is necessary for staying current in the field.
  • • Maintaining access codes, licenses, and reciprocity as required for the position ensures uninterrupted service.
  • • Striving to achieve and maintain company productivity metrics demonstrates a commitment to efficiency and performance.
  • • Acting as a resourceful and self-starting individual capable of effectively managing workflow once trained is essential for success in this remote role.
