Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • Own end-to-end strategy, roadmap, and commercial outcomes for Paddle’s flagship Checkout experience — the highest-visibility, most strategically critical product surface where every dollar of customer revenue flows.
- • Translate market trends, payments innovation, customer needs, and company goals into a defendable long-term vision for Checkout, presented directly to Executive Leadership and major customers.
- • Make and stand by high-stakes prioritisation decisions involving technical constraints, commercial impact, compliance requirements, and user experience trade-offs across multiple global markets.
- • Set and enforce product delivery standards across discovery, specification, experimentation, and launch quality — serving as the benchmark for the broader Payments product team.
- • Lead a tight trio with a senior engineering lead and experienced product designer to ship fast, instrument rigorously, and iterate based on real customer signals and data.
- • Drive a continuous optimisation programme using A/B tests, beta programmes, and usability research to compound gains in conversion, authorisation rates, and customer trust on a high-volume consumer-facing surface.
- • Own and directly analyse key Checkout KPIs including conversion rate, authorisation rates, revenue impact, and NPS — independently pulling data, forming hypotheses, and recommending actions without reliance on analytics teams.
- • Use product data to influence company-wide strategy beyond Checkout, including pricing, go-to-market motion, risk policy, and settlement processes.
- • Craft compelling written narratives and documentation that drive decision-making across leadership, engineering, sales, and customer success — replacing decks with clear, persuasive written artefacts.
- • Align senior stakeholders — including Exco, Sales leadership, and key enterprise customers — around Checkout strategy, tailoring communication without diluting substance.
- • Act as a credible technical partner to engineers on complex payments systems, APIs, integrations, and platform-level decisions — understanding auth flows, 3DS, SCA, PSP economics, and fraud trade-offs.
- • Oversee global go-to-market execution for Checkout launches across customer segments and territories, collaborating closely with Marketing, Solutions, and Support teams.
- • Maintain direct customer proximity: regularly engage with customers, embed their feedback into product decisions, and build processes that keep the team aligned with real user needs.
- • Coach other product managers on best practices in discovery, prioritisation, and data-led decision-making across the Payments group.
- • Leverage AI tooling daily to accelerate research, writing, prototyping, and analysis — demonstrably reducing time from idea to testable prototype from weeks to days.
- • Operate in a high-intensity, cross-functional environment with daily collaboration with Sales, Solutions, Customer Success, Risk, Finance, and Executive Leadership.
- • Work primarily in-person at Paddle’s London hub to enable deep collaboration with the Checkout team and wider Payments group — this role is not suitable for fully remote candidates.
- • Thrive in ambiguity and scale-up environments, having owned zero-to-one product initiatives or high-complexity products with measurable commercial impact.
- • Communicate with exceptional clarity and influence in English, both verbally and in writing — shaping opinions, resolving tensions, and driving alignment under pressure.
