đź“‹ Description

  • • Crusoe Energy Systems is at the forefront of a revolution, building the foundational infrastructure that powers artificial intelligence and advanced computing. Our mission is to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence, creating a world where ambitious AI development is unhindered by limitations of scale, speed, or sustainability. We are seeking a visionary Staff Product Manager, Fleet Management, to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our large-scale GPU and CPU infrastructure.
  • • In this critical role, you will be the architect of our fleet management product strategy and execution. Your primary responsibility will be to define and drive the capabilities that ensure the reliable, efficient, and scalable operation of thousands of servers dedicated to AI training and inference workloads. This involves a deep dive into the entire lifecycle of our compute resources, from the initial provisioning and deployment of hardware, through continuous health monitoring and proactive maintenance, to the eventual decommissioning of assets.
  • • You will operate at the crucial intersection of infrastructure operations, cutting-edge engineering, and exceptional customer experience. Your work will directly translate complex operational requirements into robust, scalable product features, ensuring that our fleet systems achieve high utilization rates, minimize downtime, and can rapidly adapt to the evolving demands of our customers' AI workloads. This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact on the company's success and contribute to the responsible, transformative growth of cloud infrastructure.
  • • As a Staff Product Manager, you will be expected to lead significant cross-functional initiatives, influencing technical and product strategy across multiple engineering and operations teams. You will be accountable for the success of our fleet management systems, which are directly tied to Crusoe's core business objectives and growth. This role demands a strategic thinker who can identify opportunities for innovation, drive consensus among senior stakeholders, and act as a recognized subject matter expert in a complex and rapidly evolving technological landscape.
  • • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include owning the overarching vision and product strategy for fleet management. This encompasses all aspects of the product lifecycle, from initial discovery and definition through to launch, iteration, and optimization. You will define the product direction for systems that manage our extensive GPU and CPU infrastructure, with a relentless focus on reliability, optimal utilization, and overall operational efficiency.
  • • A key aspect of this role involves leading and fostering collaboration across diverse teams, including engineering, infrastructure operations, networking, and customer success. Your ability to build consensus and drive integrated solutions will be paramount. You will work closely with tech leads and senior managers to shape architectural decisions, guide investments in critical tooling, and refine operational processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • • You will proactively identify opportunities to boost fleet utilization, significantly reduce operational overhead, and elevate system observability through innovative product development. This requires a keen understanding of the underlying hardware and software stack, as well as the operational challenges faced by our teams.
  • • Collaboration will extend to other Product Managers responsible for bare metal and virtualized compute, ensuring a cohesive and seamless lifecycle management experience across Crusoe's entire infrastructure portfolio. Furthermore, you will partner closely with finance and operations teams to establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop insightful dashboards that inform critical decisions regarding capacity planning and capital allocation.
  • • Understanding the direct impact of fleet reliability and performance on customer workloads is essential. You will work with the customer success team to gather feedback, identify pain points, and translate these insights into actionable product requirements that enhance the customer experience.
  • • Beyond direct product development, you will contribute to the growth of our product management and engineering teams by mentoring other product managers and engineers. You will share your deep expertise in infrastructure operations and complex systems thinking, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • • Ultimately, your work will contribute significantly to Crusoe Cloud's overall product strategy. By analyzing operational trends and identifying systemic improvements, you will help shape the future direction of our platform and solidify Crusoe's position as a leader in sustainable AI infrastructure.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 6+ years of product management experience, with a proven track record of delivering infrastructure or platform products, and demonstrated ownership of complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • • Deep expertise in fleet management concepts, including provisioning, lifecycle management, monitoring, and large-scale operations.
  • • Strong understanding of distributed systems, server hardware, and infrastructure automation principles.
  • • Proven ability to tackle ambiguous, novel problems through research, invention, and creative analysis.
  • • Experience driving product vision for complex systems with long-term strategic impact, adept at balancing technical tradeoffs and operational requirements.
  • • Track record of building consensus across engineering, operations, and infrastructure teams regarding technical direction and investment priorities.
  • • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret operational metrics, performance data, and utilization patterns to guide product decisions.
  • • Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts and linking them to business outcomes.
  • • Experience mentoring colleagues in product management or technical roles.
  • • Nice-to-have: Experience with large-scale GPU infrastructure or AI/ML platform operations.
  • • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools, orchestration systems (e.g., Kubernetes, Slurm), or configuration management platforms.
  • • Nice-to-have: Background in SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure operations roles prior to product management.
  • • Nice-to-have: Experience with observability platforms, monitoring systems, or incident management workflows.
  • • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of hardware lifecycle management, predictive maintenance, or capacity planning systems.
