- • General Motors is at the forefront of redefining mobility, transforming vehicles into sophisticated software-defined platforms powered by robust, global connectivity. As a Staff Product Manager for Global Connectivity & Carrier Partnerships, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of automotive technology by owning and executing GM’s global connectivity product strategy.
- • This senior individual contributor role operates at the dynamic intersection of product strategy, cutting-edge connectivity technologies, commercial execution, and strategic enterprise partnerships. You will be responsible for the end-to-end ownership of GM’s connectivity portfolio, driving critical outcomes across cost-effectiveness, performance, network resilience, scalability, and an exceptional customer experience.
- • Your expertise will be crucial in serving as a trusted advisor to senior executives and acting as a strategic counterpart to global carrier and technology partners, ensuring GM remains a leader in connected mobility.
- • You will own the long-term product strategy, roadmap, and execution for GM’s comprehensive global connectivity services. This includes a deep focus on cellular technologies (4G LTE, 5G), eSIM and remote SIM provisioning, satellite and non-terrestrial networks, and advanced cloud-enabled connectivity solutions.
- • A key aspect of your role will be to work backward from the customer, vehicle, and broader ecosystem experience to define innovative and differentiated business models, robust technical architectures, and scalable commercial frameworks that can be effectively deployed across global markets.
- • You will lead the entire product lifecycle, from the initial definition of requirements through successful launch, scaling of services, ongoing operations, and the long-term evolution of connectivity services. This includes managing legacy technology sunsets and developing strategic migration plans for vehicle fleets.
- • A significant responsibility will be to define and execute global multi-carrier strategies aimed at enhancing network resilience, expanding coverage, optimizing cost efficiency, and elevating the customer experience across diverse regions and vehicle programs.
- • You will be instrumental in strengthening and expanding GM’s existing global connectivity relationships, fostering them into long-term strategic partnerships that unlock new business opportunities and pave the way for future connectivity advancements.
- • Drive the adoption of next-generation connectivity technologies, staying ahead of the curve by exploring and integrating emerging concepts such as 6G, Mobile Edge Compute (MEC), Open RAN, unified one-network architectures, strategic Wi-Fi offload solutions, and advanced satellite connectivity.
- • Lead the development, negotiation, and meticulous execution of global commercial frameworks. This involves managing contracts, Statements of Work (SOWs), amendments, and structured internal and external change-request processes with precision.
- • Translate complex, long-term strategic visions into actionable commercial agreements. These agreements will clearly define scope, service level agreements (SLAs), deliverables, timelines, technical solutions, stringent cybersecurity requirements, data privacy protections, sophisticated billing and reporting mechanisms, and globally competitive commercial terms.
- • Build and rigorously evaluate comprehensive business cases, sophisticated pricing structures, detailed margin analyses, and intricate data usage and cost models. Conduct thorough competitive assessments and present clear, data-driven recommendations to senior leadership for strategic decision-making.
- • Lead and influence diverse cross-functional teams, including engineering, vehicle programs, legal, regulatory affairs, purchasing, finance, sales, and operations, ensuring seamless alignment and disciplined execution across all initiatives.
- • Partner closely with senior leaders across both technical and commercial organizations, acting as a visionary thought leader. You will synthesize complex technical, commercial, and market insights into clear, actionable decision options, grounded in global best practices and compelling proof points.
- • Serve as a trusted advisor to executives by expertly integrating the connectivity strategy into broader GM enterprise priorities and critical vehicle platform decisions, ensuring strategic coherence.
- • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and operating metrics to meticulously monitor service performance, including provisioning success rates, profile swap efficiency, network coverage, reliability, and overall cost efficiency.
- • Oversee the smooth execution of contractual and operational deliverables by proactively identifying and mitigating technical, operational, and commercial risks, driving timely resolutions through continuous collaboration with connectivity partners.
- • Collaborate effectively with engineering and operations teams on network provisioning, certification processes, launch readiness, performance optimization, and the implementation of AI-driven tools for network and customer experience monitoring.
- • Demonstrate senior-level product, business, and program leadership capabilities, with a proven ability to operate independently and effectively at an enterprise scale.
- • Exhibit a proven ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority, navigating highly matrixed organizations and complex external partner landscapes.
- • Possess executive-level communication skills, with a demonstrated talent for simplifying complexity, framing critical trade-offs, and driving timely and informed decision-making.
- • Cultivate a strong ownership mindset, taking full accountability for outcomes across strategy development, execution, and the long-term health and success of connectivity services.
