We are building the world's leading Trust Management Platform, and at the heart of this ambitious endeavor lies our Identity & Access Management (IAM) team. This team is responsible for the foundational identity and permissioning systems that underpin every Vanta product, ensuring robust security and seamless user experiences.
• • As the Staff Product Manager for the Identity Platform, you will play a pivotal role in defining and executing the product vision and roadmap for Vanta's core identity systems. This encompasses the critical areas of user authentication, action authorization, and the sophisticated modeling of identity across an increasingly diverse and complex customer base. Your strategic direction will be instrumental in scaling Vanta's capabilities to serve everything from nimble 10-person startups to highly regulated federal agencies, making this a high-autonomy role with significant impact.
• • You will be the driving force behind key initiatives, including the critical User Model split. This complex, cross-team data migration project aims to cleanly separate IAM Users (responsible for authentication and permissions) from Personnel Records (focused on GRC/compliance data). Successfully executing this will have a profound, organization-wide impact, enhancing data integrity and system clarity.
• • Furthermore, you will be tasked with defining and evolving Ownership 3.0. This initiative represents a significant leap forward from binary, object-level ownership models to a sophisticated, customer-customizable, role-based permissions framework. This new paradigm will be meticulously designed to cater to the distinct needs of both burgeoning startups and established large enterprises, ensuring Vanta remains adaptable and scalable.
• • A core responsibility will be to proactively shape Vanta's overarching authorization strategy. This involves ensuring that individual product teams build upon a foundation of shared, robust platform capabilities rather than developing ad hoc, potentially inconsistent permission solutions. Your strategic guidance will foster consistency, efficiency, and maintainability across the Vanta ecosystem.
• • You will contribute significantly to the development of our multi-tenant access architecture. This work is crucial for enabling seamless, secure cross-domain experiences for a variety of user types, including auditors, Managed Service Providers (MSPs), and multi-workspace enterprise customers, enhancing Vanta's value proposition for complex organizations.
• • This role demands navigating intricate cross-team dependencies. You will collaborate closely with teams across GRC, Trust, Collaboration, and PEX, all of whom have specific authorization needs. Your ability to harmonize these diverse requirements into a cohesive platform strategy will be paramount to Vanta's success.
• • You will partner deeply with engineering and technical domain experts, striking a delicate balance between the sophisticated requirements of enterprise-grade solutions and the need for comprehensibility and ease of use for our smaller, rapidly growing customers.
