Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Own the voice of the client and the vertical: You will become the authoritative source on how specific payment verticals behave, what drives their economics, and where friction exists for PayNearMe’s customers. Through a disciplined mix of win/loss calls, NPS deep-dives, competitive teardowns, and market-modeling, you will translate raw signals into crisp, data-backed problem statements that the entire company can rally behind.
  • • Shape multi-year strategy and investment themes: Rather than chasing the next feature request, you will build durable investment theses that show how PayNearMe can win in regulated payments over the next 3-5 years. You will size TAM, model unit economics, and pressure-test assumptions with Finance, Sales, and Executive leadership so that every roadmap item maps to a quantifiable business outcome.
  • • Lead discovery for high-impact capabilities: From real-time disbursements to embedded compliance tooling, you will run lean discovery sprints—customer interviews, prototype tests, pricing experiments—that de-risk big bets before Engineering writes a line of code. You will define success metrics, write one-pagers, and socialize findings so that the organization moves with conviction.
  • • Orchestrate cross-functional alignment: You will sit at the nexus of Product, Engineering, Sales, Client Success, and Marketing, translating between technical constraints and commercial realities. Expect to run quarterly roadmap summits, craft internal enablement decks, and negotiate trade-offs so that every team understands why we are building what we are building and how it ladders up to company OKRs.
  • • Champion strategic clients and lighthouse wins: You will quarterback executive-level business reviews, co-create joint success plans, and surface unmet needs that become the seed of our next $10M ARR vertical. Your ability to build trust with CIOs and Compliance VPs will turn customers into design partners and vocal references.
  • • Define go-to-market excellence for new features: While Engineering delivers the code, you will own how the market hears about it. You will craft value propositions, pricing models, and sales plays that resonate with risk-averse, highly regulated buyers. You will train Sales Engineers, arm Client Success with ROI calculators, and stand shoulder-to-shoulder in the field to close marquee deals.
  • • Provide thought leadership on industry trends: Whether it’s FedNow adoption, cannabis banking reform, or real-time gaming payouts, you will publish POVs, speak at conferences, and brief the Board on emerging opportunities. Your insights will keep PayNearMe two steps ahead of incumbents and regulators alike.
  • • Build and mentor a product culture: As a Staff-level leader, you will mentor junior PMs, codify best-practice playbooks, and institutionalize customer-centric rituals that scale as the company grows. Your legacy will be a team that obsesses over client outcomes and ships with velocity and rigor.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 7+ years of product management experience in B2B SaaS, fintech, or payments with at least 3 years owning vertical or segment strategy
  • • Demonstrated success launching and scaling products in highly regulated industries (gaming, money transmission, lending, cannabis, etc.)
  • • Proven ability to synthesize quantitative data (SQL, Tableau, Amplitude) and qualitative insights into actionable product strategies
  • • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with experience presenting to C-suite and Boards
  • • Nice-to-have: MBA or advanced degree in business, economics, or engineering; familiarity with payment rails (ACH, RTP, card networks); prior remote-first team leadership

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Fully remote-first culture with quarterly off-sites in desirable locations
  • • Competitive base salary plus equity in a late-stage, high-growth fintech
  • • Annual $3,000 professional development stipend for courses, conferences, or certifications
  • • Flexible PTO policy with a mandatory two-week minimum to protect recharge time
  • • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision for employees and 75% for dependents
