📋 Description

• Own and drive the technical vision and architecture of Kraken’s Pro mobile application built with React Native and TypeScript
• Build and maintain high-performance mobile trading applications for spot and futures markets used by advanced traders globally
• Lead initiatives to improve app performance, reliability, and scalability including startup time, responsiveness, and resource efficiency
• Act as a technical leader across multiple engineering teams to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment in a shared codebase
• Partner with Product, Design, and Backend teams to deliver impactful, user-facing features for Kraken Pro’s mobile platform
• Take primary ownership during critical production incidents, diagnosing root causes and driving timely resolutions
• Define, evolve, and enforce engineering standards, best practices, and tooling for mobile development across the organization
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers to elevate the team’s technical capability and foster a culture of excellence
• Stay deeply engaged with the codebase while operating at a strategic, platform-level scope to guide long-term technical direction
• Contribute to the development of micro-interactions and animations within the React Native mobile interface to enhance user experience
• Ensure mobile applications meet industry-leading security and performance benchmarks aligned with Kraken’s commitment to crypto security
• Maintain close alignment with Kraken Pro’s web and mobile trading experiences to ensure seamless cross-platform functionality
• Drive adoption of scalable mobile platform patterns across distributed teams operating in a global, remote-first environment
• Remain current with advancements in React Native, TypeScript, iOS, and Android ecosystems to inform architectural decisions
• Collaborate with global engineering teams across time zones to deliver consistent, high-quality mobile experiences
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies or libraries that improve developer productivity, app stability, or user performance
• Represent the mobile engineering team in cross-functional planning sessions to prioritize features and technical debt reduction
• Uphold Kraken’s mission of accelerating global crypto adoption through reliable, intuitive, and secure trading tools

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong focus on mobile development
• Deep expertise in React Native and TypeScript
• Proven experience owning or leading large-scale, production mobile applications
• Strong understanding of mobile performance optimization, architecture, and debugging
• Solid knowledge of iOS and Android platforms
• Experience working across multiple teams or shared platforms
