  • • Alkami Technology, a leader in cloud-based digital banking solutions, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff SDET to join their dynamic, remote-first team. This role is pivotal in driving quality engineering excellence across the entire software development lifecycle, with a strong emphasis on test automation and white-box testing methodologies.
  • • As a Staff SDET, you will operate as a key individual contributor and a quality engineering leader within a software development scrum team. You will be instrumental in guiding and collaborating with a select group of SDETs and Test Engineers, fostering a culture of high-quality software delivery.
  • • Your responsibilities will span the entire spectrum of test automation, encompassing UI, API, Microservices, and Database layers. You will be tasked with building and maintaining robust automated test suites, ensuring their stability and efficiency. A significant part of your role will involve mentoring and guiding other SDETs in specific functional areas to enhance and optimize these automated test suites.
  • • You will play a crucial role in the tool selection process, contributing to tool analysis, creating proof-of-concept models, and making informed recommendations. This includes implementing and enforcing coding guidelines, establishing effective peer review processes, defining Git workflows, optimizing process workflows, implementing quality gates, and integrating best practices into the CI/CD pipeline.
  • • Active participation in code and technical specification reviews with architects and developers is expected. You will be responsible for clearly communicating design decisions, requirements, feature sets, functionality, and system limitations to the team, thereby promoting a shared understanding of quality engineering processes, practices, and standards across teams.
  • • The role involves performing comprehensive functional and regression testing, meticulously analyzing automated test results, and efficiently reporting and tracking defects to closure. A key objective is the seamless integration of automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to support continuous testing and deployment, enabling faster and more reliable releases.
  • • You will actively participate in all Agile ceremonies for your mentee teams, including sprint grooming, planning, demos, and retrospectives. Your involvement will extend to Go/No Go decisions and other release meetings, ensuring that quality is a primary consideration throughout the release process.
  • • A core responsibility is the design and documentation of comprehensive test strategies, testing guidelines, standard operating procedures, utilities, and tooling. This proactive approach aims to significantly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of test automation efforts.
  • • You will be involved in triaging customer issues, analyzing production metrics, and providing detailed root cause analysis to engineering teams. Based on your findings, you will recommend system hardening measures to prevent future occurrences.
  • • As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for multiple application areas, you will provide guidance and oversight to SDETs at all levels (Associates, Seniors, and Staff). You will monitor the success of your mentees and ensure they adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and design/coding guidelines.
  • • You will lead the maintenance of test environments and the creation of test data, ensuring consistency with staging and production configurations. This ensures that testing is conducted in environments that accurately reflect production conditions.
  • • The Staff SDET will contribute to the overall architectural vision for testability and automation, advocating for best practices and innovative solutions. This includes staying abreast of emerging technologies and trends in quality engineering and automation.
  • • Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product management, development, and operations, is essential to fully understand project requirements and application architecture, ensuring that quality is embedded from the outset.
  • • You will be a champion for quality, driving initiatives and influencing stakeholders to adopt and maintain high standards throughout the development process.
  • • This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of quality engineering at Alkami, impacting millions of users through robust and reliable digital banking solutions.
