• • The Staff Security Engineer role at Mozilla Corporation is critical to safeguarding the integrity of Mozilla’s products and protecting its global user base from security threats. As an Incident Responder, you will be a trusted expert responsible for detecting, analyzing, and mitigating security incidents across Mozilla’s services, directly supporting the company’s mission to build a safer, more open internet.
• • Day to day, you will identify and respond to security incidents at a global scale, serve as an incident commander driving responses through the full lifecycle, design and maintain security alerts, automated actions, playbooks, and escalation workflows for 24/7 readiness, conduct proactive threat hunting, research threat intelligence, triage related workflows, partner with cross-functional stakeholders to improve preparedness and response, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure continuous coverage.
• • You will join Mozilla’s Security Incident Response team, a flexible and collaborative group within a mission-driven organization backed by the non-profit Mozilla Foundation. Mozilla is known for its commitment to privacy, open-source innovation, and user empowerment, with products like Firefox used by over 225 million people monthly. The team operates with high autonomy and integrity, relying on deep technical expertise and strong communication to protect users and advance security practices across the company.
• • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in enterprise-scale incident response, threat detection engineering, security automation (SOAR), and threat intelligence integration. You’ll lead complex incident responses, influence security strategy through improved detection and response capabilities, mentor peers through knowledge sharing, and grow as a trusted security leader in a culture that values ownership, creativity, and principled problem-solving.
