- • Join Workato, the leader in enterprise automation, and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our database infrastructure. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff / Senior Infrastructure Engineer to become an integral part of our Infrastructure Storage team, with a specific focus on leading the evolution and operational excellence of our database platform.
- • In this critical role, you will be instrumental in building, scaling, and operating our cutting-edge database technologies, with a strong emphasis on ClickHouse, all within the dynamic Kubernetes ecosystem. Your expertise will ensure the unwavering reliability, exceptional performance, and robust scalability of the systems that process billions of events daily, powering Workato's enterprise-grade automation platform.
- • As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer on the Infra-Storage team, you will not just operate systems; you will architect and drive the very foundation of Workato's distributed platform. This involves leading significant technical initiatives, particularly around the deployment, optimization, and advanced management of ClickHouse clusters within Kubernetes. You will foster strong collaborative relationships with our Data Engineering and Platform teams, working hand-in-hand to achieve shared goals.
- • A core aspect of your responsibility will be to champion and implement automation strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce manual overhead across our entire database fleet. This includes developing sophisticated workflows for database provisioning, dynamic scaling, robust backup procedures, and seamless recovery processes, ensuring business continuity and operational resilience.
- • You will be tasked with optimizing the performance, reliability, and resource utilization of our databases, especially within the complex and demanding containerized environments. This requires a deep understanding of database internals and Kubernetes orchestration, enabling you to fine-tune configurations and resource allocation for maximum efficiency.
- • A significant part of your role will involve the creation and maintenance of Kubernetes operators and manifests specifically designed for database workloads. This hands-on development will ensure that our databases are managed effectively and consistently within the Kubernetes framework, leveraging its powerful automation and orchestration capabilities.
- • You will leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, primarily using Terraform, to manage and provision our infrastructure. This approach ensures repeatability, version control, and a systematic way of managing our growing infrastructure footprint, promoting best practices in cloud-native operations.
- • Leading incident response and driving thorough post-mortem analyses for any database-related issues will be a key responsibility. Your ability to quickly diagnose, resolve, and document incidents will be crucial in maintaining high availability and learning from challenges to prevent future occurrences.
- • Collaboration is key. You will work closely with Data Engineers and various application teams to provide architectural guidance, assist with capacity planning, and ensure that database solutions align with application requirements and future growth projections.
- • You will also be responsible for building and enhancing internal tooling designed to improve the observability of our database systems. This includes developing sophisticated monitoring, alerting, and diagnostic tools that provide deep insights into system health and performance, enabling proactive issue detection and resolution.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a leading-edge technology stack in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You will contribute directly to the success of a product used by hundreds of thousands of customers worldwide, making a tangible impact on how businesses operate and innovate.
- • We are looking for individuals who are passionate about infrastructure, databases, and automation, and who thrive in a collaborative, ownership-driven culture. If you are eager to tackle complex challenges and contribute to a world-class platform, we encourage you to apply.
- • The relocation to Tbilisi, Georgia, offers a chance to immerse yourself in a vibrant culture while contributing to a globally recognized tech company. Workato is committed to fostering a flexible, trust-oriented environment where innovation and teamwork are paramount, and where employees are empowered to take full ownership of their roles and achieve a healthy balance between productivity and self-care.
