- • Architect and ship production-grade AI agents that orchestrate long-context reasoning, legacy-system integrations, and strict compliance loops for tier-1 banks—systems that must be correct the first time, every time.
- • Own the full SDLC for green-field features: from white-board architecture sessions with founders through writing Python services (FastAPI/Django), containerizing with Docker, and deploying to AWS/GCP with Infrastructure-as-Code.
- • Translate ambiguous business problems into crisp technical specs. You will sit with product, compliance, and customer-success teams to define the “how” behind automating multi-turn workflows that historically required entire back-office teams.
- • Design resilient data pipelines that ingest and normalize millions of banking transactions per day, leveraging PostgreSQL for relational guarantees, Redis for low-latency caching, and S3/GCS for immutable audit trails.
- • Build and evolve REST & GraphQL APIs that expose agentic capabilities to internal dashboards and external partners, versioning carefully so live deployments never break downstream clients.
- • Implement rigorous observability: distributed tracing, structured logging, custom metrics, and alerting that surface anomalies in agent decision paths before customers notice.
- • Champion code quality through PR reviews, automated testing (pytest, contract tests, chaos tests), and continuous deployment pipelines that let us ship multiple times per day with confidence.
- • Collaborate with our small but mighty frontend team (React + TypeScript) to deliver end-to-end user experiences, or jump into the frontend yourself when velocity demands it.
- • Mentor junior engineers and interns; establish patterns that let the team move faster tomorrow than today—whether that’s shared libraries, design docs, or brown-bag sessions.
- • Contribute to strategic decisions: evaluate new cloud services, debate build-vs-buy for ML orchestration frameworks, and help decide which compliance regimes we tackle next.
- • Participate in an on-call rotation that respects your sleep—our infra is self-healing, but when pagers fire you’ll have the context and tooling to restore service quickly.
- • Celebrate wins with the team—whether that’s a customer saving 10k staff-hours per month or an agent passing its 1000th audit test—over Montreal bagels or SF sourdough (we’re bi-coastal!).
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years shipping backend/full-stack code in production SaaS environments, ideally in fintech or similarly regulated domains.
- • Expert-level Python (FastAPI/Django/Flask) and deep familiarity with Docker, CI/CD, and cloud-native patterns on AWS or GCP.
- • Proven ability to design and operate relational databases (PostgreSQL) at scale, plus working knowledge of Redis, message queues, and event-driven architectures.
- • Demonstrated experience turning ambiguous requirements into technical designs that balance speed, security, and maintainability.
- • Nice to have: React/TypeScript fluency, prior work on distributed systems, legacy-system integrations, or mentoring/leading small teams.
