📋 Description

• As a Staff Software Engineer at Omada Health, you will lead the modernization and scalability of the company’s B2B platform, directly supporting mission-critical functions like eligibility, billing, marketing outreach, and file ingestion—systems that enable Omada to deliver evidence-based digital care to millions managing chronic conditions.
• Your work will ensure the platform is robust, performant, and ready for next-wave growth, directly impacting health outcomes by enabling reliable, scalable infrastructure behind Omada’s behavior change programs.
• Day to day, you will lead architecture and system design for high-scale, data-intensive B2B systems, focusing on reliability, observability, and performance across batch and real-time processing pipelines.
• You will drive database performance optimization, schema design, and long-term scalability planning for multi-terabyte PostgreSQL and other persistent stores, ensuring data integrity and efficiency at scale.
• You will partner with product, infrastructure, and operations teams to deliver resilient, maintainable systems that balance business needs with technical excellence, translating complex requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• You will identify and lead engineering-wide initiatives that improve scalability, developer efficiency, or data quality, acting as a force multiplier across teams.
• You will mentor and coach engineers at all levels, contributing to Omada’s engineering community through design reviews, technical talks, and sharing best practices to level up the craft of the entire organization.
• You will contribute to modern, cloud-forward architecture across multiple product domains, advocating for AI-assisted development tools like Cursor and Claude to enhance individual and team productivity.
• You will champion a culture of quality, observability, and reliability through strong DevOps principles, ensuring systems are monitored, measurable, and continuously improvable.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with significant focus on scalable systems architecture and performance optimization
• Proven success in re-architecting complex legacy platforms and implementing modern, maintainable solutions
• Strong programming experience with Ruby and Python, and comfort working across a modern stack including Rails, GraphQL, Django, and Sidekiq
• Deep understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), performance tuning, and data modeling
• Hands-on experience with both batch and streaming data pipelines (e.g., SQS, Kafka, Kinesis, Airflow)
• Demonstrable mastery of API design, distributed systems, and cloud-native architecture (preferably AWS)
• Fluency in CI/CD, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform)
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability frameworks (Datadog, OpenTelemetry)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to influence and deliver through others
