📋 Description

• Ship production-grade software with 5+ years of experience, including time as an early engineer at a seed or Series A startup.
• Own features end-to-end as a full-stack generalist with strong product judgment — determine what to build, what to cut, and when to push back based on customer impact.
• Deliver predictably while communicating clearly across teams — capable of representing engineering on calls with enterprise VPs of Operations and collaborating async with remote CTOs.
• Build and maintain production systems in at least one of the following domains: voice/audio, LLM applications, or data/insights pipelines — Arbor integrates all three.
• Fluently work across frontend, backend, and infrastructure using Python/FastAPI and TypeScript/React, delivering changes that span all layers in a single pull request.
• Have experience shipping features against unreliable third-party APIs under high latency and reliability constraints, such as telephony, real-time audio, or payment systems.
• Apply working knowledge of LLM application development: designing prompts, enforcing structured output, implementing retrieval systems, conducting evaluations, and managing non-deterministic systems in production.
• Operate securely on AWS or GCP with multi-tenant SaaS instincts, including data isolation, PII handling, and compliance awareness aligned with SOC 2 standards.
• Be a foundational engineering hire focused on building AI systems for frontline enterprise use cases, contributing to product direction and technical architecture from the ground up.
• Comfortably handle on-call responsibilities on a small team, having previously been the engineer paged during critical incidents.
• Collaborate in a high-intensity, 0-to-1 environment where clarity is forged from chaos, and quality is shipped under pressure without sacrificing execution.

• Contribute to building AI systems that turn in-person conversations into strategic enterprise intelligence across retail, hospitality, food service, and logistics.

• Operate within a founding team with backgrounds from Harvard, Princeton, Meta, Insight Partners, and IBM, known for building, selling, shipping, and scaling products.
• Contribute to a product already backed by $6M+ from 645 Ventures, NextPlay Ventures (Jeff Weiner), Wisdom, and leading angels, with equity upside for early team members.
• Engage with enterprise-grade systems requiring robust security, scalability, and reliability — no theoretical projects, only real-world deployments.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years shipping production software, including time as an early engineer at a seed/Series A startup
• Full-stack generalist proficient in Python/FastAPI and TypeScript/React, owning features end-to-end
• Production experience in voice/audio, LLM apps, or data/insights pipelines
• Working knowledge of LLM app development: prompts, structured output, retrieval, evals, and non-deterministic systems
• Production experience with AWS or GCP and multi-tenant SaaS security practices (data isolation, PII, SOC 2)
• Comfort with on-call responsibilities on a small team and experience shipping against flaky third-party APIs (telephony, real-time audio, payments)
