- • Design and build agentic-first financial audit workflows from the ground up, defining boundaries between AI autonomy and human judgment to ensure auditability and reliability.
- • Own the most complex and ambiguous engineering problems on the Financial Audit team, driving resolution without predefined paths or clear requirements.
- • Set technical direction for full-stack systems that power financial audit experiences, balancing scalability, security, and compliance needs in a high-stakes domain.
- • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and financial audit subject matter experts to shape product strategy, roadmap, and feature definitions from early stages.
- • Write code daily using TypeScript, React, GraphQL, Node.js, and PostgreSQL, with AI coding tools like Claude Code integrated as a core part of the development workflow.
- • Mentor and grow junior engineers through code reviews, pairing sessions, and by modeling approaches to solving ambiguous technical challenges.
- • Contribute to the engineering interview process to raise the team’s technical bar as Fieldguide scales, evaluating candidates on problem-solving, collaboration, and ownership.
- • Partner with cross-functional teams to enable large-scale customer onboarding initiatives that are critical to the company’s strategic growth in financial audit.
- • Rapidly develop deep domain knowledge in financial auditing, compliance, and assurance practices to make informed technical decisions that align with audit standards and practitioner needs.
- • Build and iterate on AI-native features that eliminate up to 50% of manual work for audit practitioners, improving their work-life balance and efficiency.
- • Operate with ownership across the entire product lifecycle—from ideation and architecture to deployment and post-launch optimization—without waiting for direction.
- • Advocate for inclusive, collaborative engineering practices that reflect Fieldguide’s values of being fearless, fast, lovable, and win-win.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven track record as a full-stack engineer driving large, complex projects from ambiguous problems to production.
- • Experience setting technical direction at the team or organizational level, not just executing within defined scope.
- • Comfort operating in environments with unclear requirements where the right solution is not obvious.
- • Active, thoughtful use of AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code) as a core part of daily development workflow.
- • Ability to quickly build domain expertise in financial auditing, compliance, or related fields to inform technical decisions.
- • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and elevate team performance through code review, pairing, and technical leadership.
