đź“‹ Description
- • As a Staff Software Engineer focused on Cloud Infrastructure and Applications at Notable Inc., you will play a pivotal role in scaling the company’s healthcare AI platform, directly contributing to improved patient outcomes, clinician efficiency, and healthcare system performance by enabling reliable, secure, and high-velocity delivery of transformative technology.
- • Your work will ensure that Notable’s infrastructure supports mission-critical healthcare applications used by hospitals, health systems, and payers to close care gaps, drive patient engagement, and optimize reimbursement — all without requiring additional staff, thereby amplifying impact at scale.
- • Day to day, you will design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS or GCP, including networking, security, load balancing, DNS, and storage systems, ensuring high availability and performance for core platform services.
- • You will create and continuously improve DevOps strategies and CI/CD pipelines using infrastructure-as-code (primarily Terraform), enabling automated build, test, package, release, and configuration management across cross-functional agile teams.
- • You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of containerized deployments, leveraging Kubernetes to manage and orchestrate microservices, while implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) to ensure observability and rapid incident response.
- • You will proactively identify infrastructure weaknesses, plan for maintainability and scalability, and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance automation, reduce toil, and improve system resilience.
- • You will document infrastructure architectures, best practices, and operational procedures, fostering knowledge sharing and enabling consistent, secure, and repeatable deployments across environments.
- • You will collaborate closely with software engineers, product teams, and security stakeholders to align infrastructure capabilities with product roadmaps, ensuring that platform evolution supports both innovation and compliance in a regulated healthcare environment.
- • Notable’s culture is deeply purpose-driven, centered on improving healthcare for humanity through AI-powered automation; you will join a team of high-caliber engineers who value technical excellence, collaboration, and meaningful impact, working in a hybrid model (3 days/week in San Mateo) that balances in-person connection with flexibility.
- • In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the foundational infrastructure of a rapidly growing healthcare AI leader, gaining deep expertise in cloud-native architectures, platform engineering, and scalable SaaS operations while directly contributing to a mission that aims to impact 100 million patients.
- • You will grow as a technical leader by mentoring peers, influencing engineering standards, and driving adoption of best practices in reliability, security, and automation — positioning yourself at the forefront of modern platform engineering in a mission-critical industry.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of relevant work experience in software engineering, infrastructure, or DevOps roles with a focus on cloud platforms
- • Hands-on experience with AWS or GCP, including incident response, networking, security, load balancers, and DNS management
- • Proven experience automating build, test, package, release, and configuration management using infrastructure-as-code tools, particularly Terraform
- • Strong scripting proficiency in Bash, Python, NodeJS, Go, or similar languages
- • Recent hands-on experience designing, deploying, and managing containerized applications using Kubernetes
- • Demonstrated expertise in implementing monitoring, metrics, and logging systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog)
- • Solid understanding of Linux/Unix fundamentals, debugging, and troubleshooting complex distributed systems
- • Commitment to high-code quality, automated testing, and engineering best practices in a fast-paced, scalable environment
🏖️ Benefits
- • Opportunity to work on a mission-driven healthcare AI platform impacting millions of patients and transforming healthcare delivery
- • Hybrid work model with in-person collaboration in San Mateo, CA (3 days/week) and flexibility for remote employees
- • Access to cutting-edge cloud technologies and infrastructure projects at scale, including Kubernetes, Terraform, and advanced monitoring systems
- • Culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and meaningful impact, working alongside top-tier engineers in a purpose-led organization
- • Professional growth opportunities through leadership, mentorship, and influence on platform architecture and engineering standards
